Microsoft GDC keynote 08

GDC isn't for us gamers remember. So you shouldn't expect too much. What's been announced so far should please game developers and indie devs.

So what is actually confirmed on 360 this year? Fable 2, NG2, Gears2?

I was talking to Nokkon about this a couple of weeks back, depending what MS announce this year, I'd be picking up another 360, but in all honesty, nothing interests me so far...

AND the DLC for GTAIV.

Hope the Sony one actually has an announcement of anything. I suspect a Resistance 2 blowout!

Or maybe i am just hoping.
 
The user created content thing should be interesting - not entirely unexpected that they would do something in answer to Little Big Planet ,but interesting non the less.

Sony does not have a keynote at GDC this year as such, just loads of little confrences regarding things such as PSN home etc. Insomniac are there doing some stuff as is Sqaure enix an naughty dog to name a few, if there is any game previews it will be done by the developers not Sony. Sony has it gamers day in April/May when it shows off its upcoming games, like has been said GDC is not E3 or TGS, its mostly for showing game engines, middleware and other developer related stuff. Nintendo have there Wiiware thing later today I think.

As for the Microsoft GDC nothing to surprising, the xna thing looks like a good idea, it would be nice if you got rewarded something for your efforts though, eg game of the month 800 points to the creator of the game. Gears 2 wasnt a surprise shame it wasnt in game footage (according to bloggers), but i think it will be a nice graphical tweak from the old UE3 as shown at the keynote, not heard anything else yet but Epic have yet to show us much at GDC. Fable 2 still unsure about, i dunno maybe its just that PM's promises never seem to come to fruition, all in a pretty solid keynote, had most things we all expected and at least it wasnt to full of charts and graphs like the keynote for E3 07 was.

Its for devs to showcase there games. The games have a time trial and should the game get enough hype the devs can publish it and charge for it. This is for game devs to showcase their talent and then get the recognition by selling there games on XBLA.
 
Looking forward to playing a demo of that ninja gaiden game because I've never played the other one and people rave about it. To me it didnt look anything at all from that video.

Plenty of gore but the gameplay surely offers more than button mashing mindless to be so highly rated?
 
It dont look "insane" at all. I just looks like more of the same from the one ive played on the ps3 with some extra touches. Hack and slash aint my fav type of game tho :p

Nah it can't be. If it is that's just appalling as it's not exactly rocket science. I'm not saying it's not technical but come on...
