Kinda, the SLi doesn't need the nVidia NF100's to work - these just split one PCI-E 2.0 lane into two PCI-E 1 lanes.
SLI only works because the NF100's switches are used, they are a requirement not an option(due to licensing).

so can you buy 771 chips anywhere yet?
They're not required, custom SLi drivers have allowed SLi to be ran on Intel chip sets in the past.

Ok good news! It supports a shedload of cpu's & we'll be getting all the Penryn ones into stock or pre-order (dont feel it's worth getting the older tech ones when the Penryn-based ones start so low)
