VLKs driving me nuts!

Am I missing something here?

As a Uni tester, but running vista, Uni have given me 3 VLKs now to get XP Pro running on Virtual PC. If I use the original CD with the licence key that came with it, its fine. If I use any of the VLKs it says its an invalid key.

Is it VLK media or OEM ?

For VLK license numbers you need VLK installation media.

Is it possible to do this in reverse?

I have a VLK CD, however my laptop only has a normal XP Pro key, and I can't find the CD for it.

I can't use my normal XP Pro key with VLK media.
If it's possible to make a VLK out of a normal XP Pro disk, I was hoping maybe it's possible to do it the other way around?

here are some screenshots illustrating the different setup screens depending on whether you have an oem, retail or VLK disk.....

yours should look like the last screenshot. if it's not working, then you don't have VLK codes....
