Hated Religon

  • An-Naba 78:31-34
Verily, for the Muttaqun [righteous], there will be a success [paradise]; gardens and grapeyards; and young full-breasted maidens of equal age; and a full cup.

  • Hadith 2,562; Sunan al-Tirmidhi
The least [reward] for the people of Heaven is 80,000 servants and 72 wives, over which stands a dome of pearls, aquamarine and ruby.

Am not sure about the quote from An-Naba, but I thank you greatly for bring it up as I need to know what that verse means for my understanding.

But the 2nd part the Hadith 2,562 is rubbish. Shia's dont follow Hadiths made by Sunnis (Its made up btw)

I can see how the conversation is shifting on why people hate islam to some of the law in islam.

Muslims are't a race of people, it's a religion, for the vast majority of people in the west religion is an anachronism, we no longer fear a "wrathful" God who brings the rain/crops/seasons and who we have to please in order to go to heaven, or fear or we might end up in the other place!

We're now educated enough to not believe this stuff any more (OK a few still do), times have moved on.

I'm sure if fundamentalist Jews were blowing up buildings in order to further their causes then we'd have a backlash against the Jewish community (it's happen before).

I think Muslims need to come down of their high horse and realise that some of their beliefs and laws are complety repugnant to us. The fact you can think stoning is a just punishment for adultery I find shocking and repugnant, it doesn't matter to me what religion you follow that is just wrong!

yes we are all allowed our views, thats your to your understanding and this is mine to my understanding.

its not just a title. Its a fact, but some laws are strict like adultery, like I said adultery is normal here so people dont take it seriously.

I share your feelings on adultery; I don't like it either. However, in a secular society, it is not punishable by law, so there's nothing to be done about it.

But coming back to my point: if Allah is all merciful, why don't Muslims emphasise forgiveness in their religion? When the Danish cartoonist published pictures of Mohammed, people called for him to be murdered. Why didn't they forgive him instead?

Forgiveness doesn't seem to occur very much in Islam. It's all about punishment - usually with extreme violence.

If you comit murder you are forgiven by the all mighty but will get punished for it.

If you're forgiven, why are you also punished? Surely forgiveness precludes the need for punishment?

If a judge tells me that "society has forgiven you", then sentences me to 5 years in prison, in what way can I said to have been forgiven?

I can see how the conversation is shifting on why people hate islam to some of the law in islam.

That is because (a) most people don't actually hate Islam, but (b) many people hate the inhuman behaviour that Islam appears to encourage.

Wither your Christian, Jewish or Muslim you’re not supposed to eat port or drink alchahol.

But Christians do, do some research 1st testimony, but along the line someone changed or bended the rules, as its happening in Islam sometimes

It was bending the rules when the old testament was written. It was all lies told to a gullible and captive audience. I imagine that when it was written life was so hard and grim you would have believed in anything to keep up hope. Some people today still need that blanket.

Bended-a made-up word meaningless, like religion. If you can work out how religion came into being then you can see the meaningless of it. The prophets, scribes and other contributers had ideas so they wrote them down and said some god gave them to me. In reality they just thought up a way they saw it was right to live life and wrote down their ideas to try and give some kind of struture where in their eyes they could only see anarchy. Now we have moved on from those days where dose that place religion?. The same place every made up story and verse should be stored, in a library so we can just look at it from time to time and make sure we don't make the mistakes they did.

No worries. I just thought it was important to emphasise that the Qur'an does not talk about "72 virgins" for the righteous.

Well, that's one point of view. There are various different types of Islam, so some Muslims would accept that Hadith, while others would reject it.

However, I do understand that just because it's in the Hadith, this doesn't mean it's "official."

So if I find your ideas repugnant then I'm sure many more will, maybe that's why Muslim's get a bad press, that your views are too alien from our own. While you obviously have the right to practice you religion and have the view you do can you now maybe see why?

Yes I agree with some of the comments above, you see extremism is so high in Islam that sometimes things like the cartoon causes mayhem. In fact I call this ignorance of Muslim people.

How I would go about it is instead of looking like a barbarian on TV I would educate the world or have a small press conference on why its wrong.

Are aliens mentioned in any bibles? other worlds nobody knows about?

Who is there god, who would they follow? Surely if they came to visit we would question everything we believed.

What because a silly little book written by some bloke is really the correct piece of literature proving that god does exist?
