Please note this is my first go. I really suck with the pen tool and its definately not complete.

Oh and good work with the pen tool too. Better than me - I don't understanding it propperly nor can i use it!

tedaC: to help the cause of inspirational material, i have done a quick outline and fill job on the main features of that pic of yours... to maybe help you see how to progress with the lines :)

note, you do not need complete outlines, pick out the prominent lines and break them up :)

Wish I was could do stuff like this, I'm only really good at UI, icons and logos etc. when it comes to faces and proportion I suck :p

Been a mental weekend, about 1 - 2hrs work so far.

Sorry to bump an oldey, but finally got around to doing one of my gf and I am pretty pleased with it.

Not sure on the background yet, but might get it printed big as a suprise for her or something

I'm happy I found this thread but also slightly concerned over the amount of time I'm now going to spend playing around with this lol.

I know you guys mentioned illustrator because of vector graphics etc., has anyone tried inkscape? does come anywhere close to illustrator?

yeah mine took me a good few hours lol :p

and you can do it in photoshop with the pen tool, no idea of inkscape
