heard on the register that they are cutting costs in preparation for nvidias new cards

any ideas when we'll see lower prices here in the UK?

The 3870x2 won't see a price cut for a good few months if thats what you mean?

x2 has been dropping in price for the last 2 weeks...

The 3870's should be dropping to round the £100 mark if they follow the US pricings.

That's great to hear. Have not noticed the 3870X2 cuts myself but if the 3870's hit £100 then I might buy a pair of them simply because it seems like a good idea, that said that would mean the 3870X2 would have to compete with its own siblings so surely would hit the £200ish mark?

Well at release the 3870X2's were between £280-£300, you can pick them up now for as low as £235-£250.

So they are deffo dropping.

Ah right, thats true, they have come down from launch, but not quite at 2x the 3870 costs atm. hopefully the market for them will alter that eventually.

Remember the 4000 series is meant to be comming out at the end of April/May...

I'm sticking with my X2 til then and i'll see what ATi bring to the market :)

Werent there some rumours that ATi was going to release another version of RV670? For HD3690! Basically a RV670 with 128 Bit memory bus... If that was cheap enough it could probably be an excellent card.
