What Car?

Just read the thread fully and noticed the turned steering wheel now its been pointed out.

On axel stands perchance? :D

Obviously its already well documented in this thread that this guy is talking a load of cobblers, but just to top it off, people like the infamous bic (wouldnt be suprised if if the most expensive 106 ever built) havent spent 10s of thousands of pounds tuning engines to 190-200bhp (first was 190, second 208), when they could've got 189bhp with a piggyback ecu and a port and polish, get a clue.

Bics 106 (For those interested):

Five star ownage.

Hehe, worthy of a chuckle ;)

As for the Astra getting near 150mph, not a chance, hasn't got a hope in hell of going past a real 135mph and in all liklihood will be doing very well to hit 130mph.

*i've timed it
*had the top speed.

*With a stop watch, or the correct timing instruments?

*Analogue speedo's have a 10-15% accuracy loss at that speed and satnav speeds are not accurate unless you're on a completely flat piece of road.

If you honestly think you can concentrate on taking a photo on a phone at 150 in a 106 then you've got a deathwish!

As I said before, every time I've done silly speeds (in a car actually designed for it) it's required a hell of a lot of concentration, fiddling with a mobile phone to take a photo would be the last thing on my mind :|
I guess you're an expert in driving small cars at such a speed then? Or if I was to guess.. I'd say you never have.

what's going to be harder to control? a bmw 5 series that's designed to be driven at high speeds, with a wider track, longer wheelbase and more weight, or a small french hatchback.
hmm... that's a tough one

Having been a passenger in both a Ferrari 355 and a Testarossa at over 140MPH, on a track (which are usually a dam sight smoother than roads) I can fully understand the complete and utter falseness of the 106 pics, and OllyM, I have utter respect for your mate being able to get a single clear shot of the speedo in a vid. The main concern on my mind was the speeds at which my lunch wanted to vacate my body!

What's that got to do with what I wrote?

I'd have thought it was obvious? Perhaps not. I'll explain.

You are implying that as Olly has not driven a small French hatchback at 150mph, he is not in a position to comment as to how easy it would be to take a photograph of the speedometer.

I am pointing out that Olly has driven a large German saloon at 150mph, and found that the level of concentration required on the road to keep the car safe was such that he was unable to take a photograph himself.

It's hardly going to be EASIER to take a picture in a car thats HARDER to control at speed, is it?

Still, you're completely missing the point. Nevermind..
