What Car?

either way, viper to the power of two, no one can drive little french cars at that speed because they are simply not capable of such feats :p

Perhaps you should explain the point then? I'm not the only one who 'missed the point' judging from the replies you've had.

Fox, do you ever feel you are baby salmon of sanity fighting against a raging river of idiocity?

It takes a special kind of thread to continue for 3 pages AFTER the OP has been suspended...

Did the original query every get near an answer....?

What a thread, read it all, why do people dig and dig and dig.

I drive like a saint around town, i don't fancy killing any kids coming home from school, when I'm on the motorway i normally do about 98mph, don't want to get banned, but at 2am and when it's clear on the motorway, i let rip and constantly have it off the speedo.

My car just seems to pull from 100mph upwards instantly, i love it

Andy

So not only did he said he had it off the speed on a track he admits to driving above 100+ on the motorway, I know the police are clamping down on people putting up vids of driving at dangerous speeds, wonder if he would stand up in court and claim his car could do 152 mph.

What a little **** needs some growing up to do.

I think it is possible. I'm sure professional drivers can but doubt they can reach such speeds while taking a photo of the speedo.

I've got no doubt in my mind a modded 106 gti will show 140mph on the clocks. You also wouldn't be 'fighting with the steering wheel' to keep it in a straight line either. What nonsense! At that speed, taking a pic whilst being a little careless, is entirely possible.

What is a little far fetched is the satnav claim - 152 mph?....... just no.

Lol got to about page 5 and saw he was suspended :( shame to end the fun. I love threads like this, too many idiots around but as someone said, thread like this do in fact MAKE the internet so good :D

Just a thought, could we have an OCUK motors sticky with links to an archive of all the threads where the OP has proven Leg End status? Like the guy who was bragging about his rich dad in need of a £60k diesel, aruffel and anyone else who has claimed to have an amazing car (without bread). :D

What about my ''Nearing the age of 17, first car questions'' :p.
A lot of people consider me a fool now because of it :D.

Tbh tho, if this car can do 127 stock, shouldn't it be realistic it can do 140 with mods? Or am I wrong and too inexperienced and is this stupid what I just asked ?
Or should I ( because you guys, well fox and paradigm and some others anyways :p, consider me a stupid fool) go back to the pc games forum and only be allowed to ''shadow'' motors forums :D ?

Funny thread though but tbh I cba to read all 3 pages of it :p.
Trying to read it all tho.

The car might do 127mph stock over a long enough distance if the conditions are favourable, but that doesn't mean that the (unlikely) mods he has listed will propel the car to the claimed 152mph. At those speeds, its all about brute power and aerodynamics. A GPS-verified 130mph takes a fair while to get to in a car with 140bhp. To get to 150mph still takes a while in a car with 220bhp. Yet here is a car 30bhp down on that claiming to have pulled hard up to that speed of 152mph? We haven't even got to the issue of gear ratios yet!

http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=8539719&postcount=5 - list of mods for that Lupo sounds scarily similar to the list of mods on this GTi....

What a thread!

What a tool!

Pure OC/UK quality, a good reminder why I put up with this place! :D

For the record,my old BMW 728i did a GPS "verified" top speed of 142MPH (Indicated well off the clock!) scared the pants off me, and I was holding the wheel as if my life depended on it (funnily enough, it did!)

80 MPH in an HGV is also very very scary (less said about that the better!) :o

I'd hate to go over 100 in a 106!

Genius & Gimp in equal measure in this thread, the Gimp is on his holiday.

:D:D:D:D:D

5 Stars to all detectives involved on this case.
