What sort of Mileage is it worthwhile getting a Diesel?

Look, i'm gonna say this once, get off your high horse, in-fact EVERYONE get off your high horse... I refuse to go into this again.

I have bought the car.. SO WHAT? it is my choice, I have said I have made the decsision I thought was best, and has come up trumps for me.

I'm messeging a Mod, because I seriously cannot be bothered with any of this again. It is my bussiness what I do, no one elses, if you have an oppinion on my status, kindly keep it to your ******* self.

Next time dont bother even thinking about asking for advice then.

on a serious note i really don't uderstand this. You argued the mini was car you loved, you always wanted one and even though perhaps it was mistake to get one it was worth spending a packet on.

You have now bought a 1.8 focus, not a bad car, but not a car that anyone can feel emotianal about. Its just a failry good small family car. To me a cheap old (01/02) focus and maybe a classic mini would have been far cheaper, and given you something to do at weekends and still goto shows and be part of the mini community.

So the Focus was MORE than the Mini? Have you increased the amount of finance you have out even though last month you complained that having the car loan was preventing you considernig moving out and you said it was a problem for you?

It strikes me that you are incapable of making rational decisions and will always make irrational, impulse purchases and regret the effects later. You then deal with justified criticism by throwing a hissy fit. If you were genuinelly happy you'd done the right thing you wouldnt give a stuff what people think.

Thanks for wasting all our time with this thread though.

The Mini was a hobby. A 1.8 Mk2 Focus is... a car. The same as a £5k Focus except it has a newer number on the perspex plate.

Credit has a lot to answer for.

I dont understand how expects to be able to both post constant details of his financial situation and moan about it in GD and then not have anyone offer an opinion?

I like it how he said he would make a decision/look at other cars and was greatful for the advice yet he wanted a Focus right from there start and took nothing from this thread at all.

Then has a go at me for posting what I thought.

Indeed, i've just read 6 pages of objections to a Focus, with West agreeing, then him going out and buying one anyway!!

I've learned now just simply not to post about what my situation with cars is, its less hassle and keeps myself and other forum members from arguing :)

A 2.0 Focus is an awesome 5k sort of car, for 9.5k it becomes pretty expensive for what it is!

R124, the 330D, 530D etc don't actually have diesel engines, what you think is a turbo is actually a fuel converter. BMW were pretty sneaky about the whole thing but come on it is pretty far fetched, a good derv.......pffftt

Got 8k for the Mini... so wasnt far off, car costed as I mentioned earlier in the thread, just over 9.5k with a free service before delivery

Nicer looking though, a guy at Mini still rates my car at around 8.5-9k so once I get the loan down to that next year im selling it on... Plus last time I checked, I dont need this places approval on my choice of car..

West said:
Yup, thats for a years time too... for a one its quite high specced (pepper pack and a few other gubbins) and the guy works for a Mini Dealer so I trust him when he said that..

:D:D:D:D

Oh dear here comes the witch hunt :D

His money but West you did ask for advice after all.

I think the 4-5k Focus and a classic Mini would have been an awesome idea though. The older Focus looks better and is just better also IMO, but hey I'm not bias or anything :p
