I agree, the trophy has got awesome suspension but a saxo would still have it because of the weight saving :( Trust me, I have been in my brothers car and had a play with a cup packed 182 (not a trophy, no way near in fact) and the outcome was not pretty for the 182.

GTI-6 Brakes - 30 quid from breakers (easily enough to stop a car with no weight)

As GT3 says, its not stylish, its not comfy - its just a dam capable car for the money. I wouldnt have one, in fact my next car NEEDS to be an S2000 :)

I don't really see how this proves anything - on the road it's as much if not more about confidence than it is about the car in question. Your brother was probably a far more comitted driver.

If merlin jumped into a 520i and took off, and I followed, he'd leave me for dead. Becuase the car he's driving is better? No. Faster? Hell no, it's considerably slower. Becuase he's a far better driver when it comes to fast road driving? Absolutely yes.

No, he was fully committed, its his gym partner so they speak regulary and he was not happy either. Both were good drivers. My brother is a bit more crazy i suppose :D
 
Clio Trophy is what 1100kg and they make about 175bhp dont they? So 160bhp/ton ish.

Stripped saxo 800kg with 160bhp is 200bhp/ton.

0-60 will be similar as you are limited with front wheel drive but once moving they are a lot quicker.

Weight advantage not only increases acceleration but braking and cornering too.

Heres a vid of a cammed vts vs a 350bhp evo 5 round brunters which has massive straights the saxo still sticks with it, hammers it round the bends and eventually gets past it. Yes it has throttle bodies but still making 160bhp ish. http://youtube.com/watch?v=Tj6vsWIETJ0
 
If you find a breakers that dont know what they are then easily do able.

I dont like GTI-6 brakes though, they are very very heavy. Prefer 206 gti 266mm if going for OE calipers.

Yeah same here. In the vid is Evo really that crap on the brakes? Or is down to the driver or the Saxo just stopping better?
