Next UFC in the UK

On the topic of UFC bye bye Cro Cop :( he gone to another organisation! (Dream)
I didn't know about this!
Fantastic news, UFC didn't suit him at all and it would be criminal to waste such talent.
If the first Yarrenoka event was anything to go by, then I'm looking forward to seeing my favourite type of MMA regularly again, I just can't stand the cage!
That said, I'm interested in seeing how Shogun gets on, it's becoming a bit of a joke how badly a lot of the Pride fighters have done in UFC, so I'd like to see Shogun give Liddell a hiding.

a, CroCop has a bit of an attitude issue. he thinks he is the best in the world and that he can do it all, infact he's a bit lazy, a bit arrogant and got beaten down for it.

on the other hand, we currently have 3 ex Pride guys as UFC champions so i am not sure who should be embarrassed. well apart from Chuck losing to Keith Jardine, LOL.

Lesnar looked like he can adapt to becoming a genuine heavyweight contender... He has good striking and power, will be pretty much unbeatable in the clinch and brutal ground and pound... I think Frank Mir was mighty relieved after submitting him.

Obviously he meeds to work on his ground work and learn a few submissions and defences... Would love to see him thrown in against Tim Sylivia, could be a real battle.

tryin to get tickets now, anyone got the password? ICEMAN doesnt work.

or any ideas, are the £125 tickets worth £50 more than the 75's etc?! never been to the 02 so any help from anypne who's been before?

I want to see Kimbo Slice go against the best UFC has to offer!

Kimbo couldn't beat the 'worst' fighter in UFC. He lost to Sean gannon, a part timer in one of his bare knuckle fights (google search it, kimbo gets owned) gannon then joined the UFC and got soundly hammered.

Yeah but that fight was a while ago. He's now being trained by Bas Rutten and he was VERY impressive against Tank Abbott recently in Elite XC. Granted he's got no ground game but he's a very exciting fighter watch and I wish him all the best.

Read my post above, the tickets on the newsletter doesnt go on sale until the 5th of March. The password should work from then. I bought the £100 tickets last time and they would be the cheapest I would get TBH as you will be on the upper tier otherwise.

Are the fights really worth £100+ though? I know there are a few undercard fights.. How long are you there watching all the action then? Around 4 hours?

awesome thanks Bear well i booked yesterday, i got 3x £175 tickets right next to the fighter entrance.

had to pay £36~ for the membership though, but imo worth it. next time in Manchester use the subscription and get other early tickets etc

Last time I went I think the undercard fights start at around 4.00-5.00pm, I got there around 7.00pm and it went on to about 11.00pm. Its all relative as to whether you think its worth the money, I enjoyed it last time and am going to go again so to me it obviously was worth the money.

There will typically be 5 'preliminary bouts' which are not televised and 5 'main event' bouts which are televised. One of the main event fights will usually be a championship bout but in the case of ufc 85 won't.

To be honest both the preliminary and main event bounts are usually of a very high quality with some big names and also some good 'up and comers'... Just look at UFC 82 last night with Arlovski and Koscheck only making the preliminaries.

Being a boxing fan as well I've sat through some really boring undercards. This just doesn't happen in the ufc as everyone is there to fight hard and prove themselves, if they don't you won't see them in the future... The difference between to two sports in terms of value for money is like night and day to be honest. £100 to watch UFC in London or £500 to watch Ricky Hatton get beaten up... I know which I would rather choose! :)

AFAIK Bork isn't fighting in the London event now, oh and lets face it everybody looks good against a 10 years past it Tank.
Give Kimbo at least another year before putting him against any current legit heavyweight. A big newbie fight like Bork vs Kimbo might be a good seller though.

TBH though Chuck vs Shogun is a huge fight, just as big as Hendo and Silva. It's worth going for that alone. I'm off to buy tickets... :)
