Birdcam 2008 - The Official Thread

why don't you setup a live stream and let stickam host the stream for you, they will take the initial feed from you and relay it to other people, its a free service also.

Ta for that, will take a look at the weekend.

I have a built in streaming available via the cam wizard app but I've not had much luck configuring it with my firewall.

Sorry for the lack of updates, unfortunately my mum passed away on the 22nd Feb so things have been quite hectic as I've had to sort out funerals and wills etc.

Will aim to update this sometime over the weekend.

Very Sorry to hear that wonder_lander :( :(

On a different note, I hopefully will have something to add to this thread myself. Me and my girls have now received all our parts, built the cam into the bird box and played with the software. I could post movies of them tossing small toys into the box to prove it works, but I wont...

We just need a nice sunny day so I can fit it to the side of the house and drill big holes to run the cables.

This may sound like a daft question, but do you put any food about to draw them in, or do they just discover it for themselves ? (was thinking a big line of breadcrumbs from a nearby tree :D)

Our box was used last year and research showed that they tend to return to the same nest. We therefore haven't added anything into the box!

Putting food out could attract the wrong sort of birds and may also make any possible tenants think that the box is already occupied!

I personally would just leave it and see what happens!

Lots of activity today from the pair of birds so hopeful that nest building will begin soon!

Very active still, today was the first time I saw the bird bring something into the box but by the way it sticks to the wall I'm going to guess it was something goey to eat!

Well just been away from the weekend and have come back today to find that they've started to bring nesting material in!

Here is the current live capture!
