Tiny dogs

Requirements:

Must be tiny. The smaller it is, the better she'd prefer it.
Must not be massively expensive.
Must not be so annoying a boxer is likely to eat it.
Must allow for dribble and play from aforementioned boxer.
Must not be bitey around young kids.

Preferences:

Cuteness ( :o)
Less propensity to shed

It doesn't have to be a pedigree.

The three main contenders are a chihuahua, a tea cup Yorkshire Terrier or a Pugalier.

Suggestions?

I have a small dog at my house due to the size of the house and my working hours.

I spent ages looking for a dog that was suitable and looked at Miniature Schanuzers which are fantastic but were sadly out of my budget. In the end I settled for a dog breed called a Lhasa Poo. The Lhasa Poo is a cross between the Poodle and Lhasa Apso which at first worried me because I immediately thought poodle = no. However after seeing him and pictures of dogs similar to him I changed my mind. The advantages are that both of the breeds are incredibly clever and also because of the poodle in him he never malts which is a bonus round the house. He gets on well with my brothers 2 year old and is fine with other dogs. He is very playful and very loving and loyal.

I don't have a picture of him at work at the minute but theres a picture here that looks very similar to him.

What about a Miniature Pinscher?

Look like mini Dobermans, which gives them slightly more credibility than Pug or something.

<Edit>semi-pro waster was on the same wavelength, freaky!

you're wrong. In 2 ways, actually.

Well, each to their own taste tbh.
I mean, I see the pug as rather proportional and cute, others will think otherwise and find it ugly as. In this case, it's like a pugs head on a "normal miniature" dog... but that's my opinion...

If you're not bothered about pedigree could you not go and have a look round rescue centres? You could contact Bichon Frisse Rescue, thats where the g/fs mum got hers. he's a happy little thing thats doesn't need or seem to want that much exercise.

The thing is though just know whos going to end up walking it and looking after it don't you :(

Hi what about a shi tzu? My parents have two, they're playful, not to yappy and cute :)

Also they get on well with other dogs

allow me to elaborate. I'm being facetious today.

1) the word is disproportionate
2) the dog is cute, fact. If you can't see that, then that's a problem with you, not the poor little puppy.

3 Yorkshire Terriers. One of them is small, yappy, not very patient and would bark at her own shadow.

Other two were unusually large, not yappy, docile & awesome with kids.

Basically the rule with Yorkies is get them as big as poss.

I'm surprised no one has questioned you why you want a annoying yappy small dog?

Just get a real dog, like a Irish wolf hound.
