Im in a big dilemma right now...my xbox360 broke and after speaking to gamestation they said i could swap my 360 for a ps3 (but i have to pay £50)...what should i do?

Im going to go to town tomorrow so i need to decide by tonight, and i need your help!

Thanks
Mayhs

p.s. i dont mind paying the £50

First you say it's free, then you say you have to pay 50 quid

You need to look at the games you like and then decide, if you have a lot of 360 games you like why make the change, if there are games on the PS3 you like do it.

I bought a PS3 on Monday and still think the 360, which I have had since launch, is the better console for actually doing the job of playing games.

I would only get a PS3 if you were unhappy with what the 360 offered, or desperately fancy a change.

If your buying it to play games, look at the games out for each system, look at the future releases and then make your mind up.

If you have a load of 360 games and like them and also like the 360 exclusives then I'd say no. But its a cheap way to get a PS3 if you are not so bothered about playing GOW2, Fable 2 or any off the 360 only then games then do it. Plenty of PS3 games to play now so not an excuse for no games to play, especially if you have not played some of the MP games on the 360. Also as BD has now won the Hidef disk format wars, you will have one of the best and one of the only fully upgradable BD players available, so if you like movies it will be a bargain. Of course you could get a PS3 now and then a 360 after the alleged price drop, as im sure if you want a PS3 it will end up cheaper this way, and the value of your 360 would drop quite a bit.

Id get the PS3, if you dont like it you can always sell it which will give you enough to get another 360

No way, not yet anyway, nothing to play on the PS3 that isnt out for the 360 already. Maybe at Christmas time it would be worth it

Not a chance now unless he's the one giving you money

Both machines have plenty of games and both have plenty of decent up and coming exclusives.

If you're a pure gamer then moving away from the 360 doesn't make much sense unless you really want the current & future PS3 exclusives.

If you want to compare machines outside of gaming (blu-ray , multimedia etc) then I think the PS3 swings it.

What about all of your existing games? Assuming you have any of course :p You'll have to replace all of those if you change machines too.

There is no way I would give my 360 up for a PS3. Not only the games but I couldnt go back to the PS2 type controller after using my 360 controller

In your opinion of course,

I'm currently playing through RFOM on the PS3 and I can honestly say hand on heart it's the best first person shooter I've played since Halo 1 on the xbox, I know it's not the most graphically enhanced game but the scope of the game is amazing, it's one of those rare titles that surprises and improves with every level.

I think just do what others have already stated, just think about what you want to use the machine for, have a little google around and see what titles are out on it and what exclusives are coming in the near future, if they take your fancy then I'd get a PS3, like Defcon5 said, if you don't like it you could easily sell it and get a 360 back no problem, at least this way you would have experienced what the PS3 is about, it's always nice to play with something different.

Of course its in my opinion, and so is this, but RFoM was one of the most dull single player experience of a first person shooter ever

Multiplayer was alright though, I still play a bit of the multiplayer now

If you like the games, I'd stick with your 360, especially if you replace it with a HDMI new version, then reassess end of the year, there will hopefully be decent bundles with DS3 controllers and there are some excellent games coming later this year..

horses for courses I suppose, I'm not exaggerating when I say it's so far been one of the best FPS games I've played in my entire life, I love the story, I love the set pieces, and I think the weapons are pure gold, the only problem I've found with it thus far (about 90% complete) is it's a little easy but then I am playing it in medium,

I do find it fascinating when two people like us for example have such differing opinions of the same game, it just goes to show whats one mans trash is another mans gold lol.

Personally Id go for the PS3, from what Im seeing the 360s games releases this year are not as strong as what the PS3 is getting. Get which you want, but have a look at whats coming out on both consoles and make a decision.

a lot of the big releases are multiplatform and you cant really say the ps3 exclusives are better than the Xbox 360's, it entirely depends on what type of games your into. If shooting games are your thing, then perhaps a PS3 is the way to go, but if your into a mixed bag and will play most games if they are good then stick with the 360.

haha, Where I'd say the opposite, If shooting games are your thing go with the 360. :D

Meh, it's a choice thing like you say though, OP needs to look at the game and make his decision. For me, I like the look of more games coming to PS3 in the future, But currently there are more great games on the 360.

For someone else, They may think current 360 games are carp, but future 360 games look phenominal.

i recently sold my xbox and all the games. and purchased a ps3 deal at a shop here. im glad i did because im really enjoying uncharted and ratchet and clank. not sure what to get next, probably RFOM or assassins creed. something to keep me going til GTA4 :p

LOL, what nonsense. There maybe a couple of shooters coming for the ps3 but in terms of diversity it is miles past the 360 already.

Singstar, Eye of Judgement, Little Big Planet, Everyday shooter, Echocrome for example ... 360 diversity is mostly based on different perspective ( 1st to third ), openworld or linear and if its a racing game or not.

And the no games / no good games / no games that aren't on the 360 already meme is dead, move on and get a clue.

360 has some excellent ' looking ' games coming out this year as does the ps3 and nobody here can predict if any of the supposed ' AAA ' titles this year for any of the consoles will actually be good.

Take your fanboy goggles off ( either for a particular console or game ) and stop talking out your rear end.

P.S. I have a folder full of gifs waiting for this thread ;)
