Your friends are not typical of the Porsche owners I know.......or me.He better hope he gets more porsches in for salvage then, the insurance costs would be the least of my worries, everyone I know whos had to let a porsche go was due to expensive service costs

THen thats their own fault for expecting a cheap car at tiem of purchase to have cheap runnign costs, adn obviously havent considered runnign costs and just bought it for the hell of it.
Buying a cheap Porsche is a road to big bills that much is true. No warranty and lots of miles will usually mean big bills, which is why buying one (hell even consdering one) because it's the same price as new Golf or Mini is a likely road to ruin.
And that exactly what stopped me from buying one, after reading the Hartech report and speaking to the guy who had looked after the car, i ran through what he would expect the car to need next, it was expected that for the next service it was going to need 2.5k spending on it.
Made me think twice, so i decided not to buy the car.
And how much do you guys think servicing a 'non' cheap porsche costs ?

Well I had a none cheap Porsche...
£550 for a minor and £950 for a major.
£550 for an oil and filter change
add brake pads and disks to a major and you're looking at £1500 at a dealer
