Hi Case people,

I am going for a total new build and have already posted in the General Hardware thread. I have already ordered most of my parts less the case. I had in mind the Antec P182 but after seeing one I am not sure I like it that much. I am a fan of style rather than flashing lights and all that jazz however I am building a sli gaming rig to replace my old one.

What are the best cases out there for Longevity (future proof), robustness, style and functions (cooling)?

I dont want to spend anything over 120 and if it can be kept lower than the P182 that would be great as well.

What do you think of the following cases as well: Just say what ones are a good buy.

Silverstone PS 01B
Coolmaster cavalier
Akasa Zen
Antec Sonata
Aspire X Cruiser
Coolmaster Mystique
Coolmaster stacker (Tower)
Coolmaster Stacker
Xilo Windtunnel
and finally the Coolmaster elite 330 - cheap but is it functional

Any help would be much appreciated.

Akasa Eclipse would get my vote.

Its MASSIVE (supports eATX which may come in handy in the future). Removable motherboard tray which is always nice. Cooling wise I've not owned many cases but the Eclipse certainly was the clooest. 120mm fans as you'd expect so it can do the business :)

But the main problem is most people don't like the look of them. I'd suggest you search the forums or look up reviews to find real life pictures as the OcUK one dosent do it justice at all.

Thanks but the Lian Li Range is a bit expensive. I will keep looking....and keep taking your suggestions.

Prob main thing is I am looking for something that has good form but all the functions and is under 80 quid.

Out of that list, the Coolermaster Stacker(s) are the best options, for reasons of space, good cooling ability, they look good and all built from aluminum.

Yeah they look ok. So many cases to pick from these days.....still I will keep looking and an open mind.

I like the stacker towers look.

haha ok

Narrowed my search down to the Lian li PC 7 , cooler master ammo 533 (looks nice and robust for lans), akasa zen and the coolmaster elite 330

What would you pick?

got a stacker 831 with silver mesh and got to say that its spot on. the only thing that could have been better is the hdd module as its not screwless so if you want to change hdd you have to unscrew it from the case then unscrew the hdd which is time consuming. also build quality is good and it looks better in real life then the pictures

I've just ordered a Lancool K7 case.

Essentially, they're Lian Li's lower budget brand, but it has nice features for the price;

*removeable mobo tray
*cable management
*2 x 120mm front intakes
*easily removeable fan filters
*rubber mounted HDs

On top of all that, it has all aluminium panels, so it has a somewhat typical Lian Li look to it. With the two front fans, cooling should be decent, and you can bung in a Lian Li side fan too. And I've seen some geezer's build log where he has a ThermalRight 120 UE in it. Oh, and they specify that it will accept the big 8800 cards too!

Will be a while before I receive it, as I had to order from the continent, so unfortunately, won't be able to give you personal feedback in time :(
