My pub was closed due to flooding, needed Rentokil to come out at hideous expense and inspect it when I'd spent hours down there cleaning it all up in the boiling heat.

I wasn't making flippant comments. I suggest you read it again and stop being so touchy.

Worse working conditions I think you mean. Also those on salary don't need more hours to work in!
 
I absolutely love the summer, this year i will definately be picking up a nice fast convertible and enjoying my high mileage job for a few months at least! :)

Bring summer on tbh. No doubt I may be working for a lot of it but I hope to be OUT the office rather than in.

Gone are the days of being tired in the morning coz it's dark when waking up.
Roll on the true summer, girls in bikini's n stuff :D. Nice and warm instead of having cold hands for half the day, and feelin cold always for the first few hours after getting up.
The world looks much nicer green too in summer than the bare looks of the winter.

What I look less forward to:
Mosquito's and other insects :(:(.
Ant invasion.

Whilse I do enjoy a liquid lunch as much as the next man, proper tomato soup with a nicely buttered french stick wins out every time. Vodka is foul.
