When the police want to talk to you !!!

It is problably nothing, I had something similar a few years ago and all they wanted to do was rule me out of an enquiry, and all because there was a blue car seen and I drove a blue car!

Yes, because that would be the right thing to do...

Some times it can be. I have ignored them many a time & that's when a card & the word has been given for me to contact them. Last year a WPC wanted to speak to me about something but I blanked it, Then she left a card somewhere to be passed on to me & I still blanked it. You are just 1 line of enquiry, If one of her other lines is the Guilty dude then they won't have to follow up any more leads so will forget about you.
It does work the other way where if you blank them they just send RCS round to kick you & your front door about :p
Choices yours really :D

the DNA machine broke and they need an extra 2 days, run while you can :o

IN all seriousness, obviously cops get called out to certain things, more important interviews crop up and time sensitive matters occur.

AS for finding out your number and stuff from last known addy, i would hazard a guess thats more likely when your name simply came up in an investigation of some sort not directly related to you. Like two old neighbours have a problem got in a fight or want some kind of mediation and they think you might be able to say if one neighbour was excessively loud or something. Who the heck knows, could really be anything.

I had something like this, turns out there was a burglary down a street and a neighbour saw me looking at a house (was looking at a planning notice) and thought I was going to rob it, police wanted to confirm what I was doing down the street, and that was the end of the matter.

Last time I got called for a friendly chat I spent 4 hours in a police cell.. Though I have to say it was all very amicable/polite etc, and I was released without charge.

Call him back, meet him, get it over and done with.

You have 48 hours to delete your entire internet identity.. GOGOGO!!! :P.

Maybe they think you might be a witness to a minor crime. It doesn't sound like you're in any trouble.

Nah, the last time there was a burglary around here, the police left a note (because I was out at the time they called) with a phone number to ring, asking if I had witnessed anything.

The OP said the police officer couldn't talk to him over the phone about anything, therefore this situation is MUCH more serious.

@The OP:
Leave this place now! (preferably to a country which has no extradition treaty with the UK).

HTH

Hmmm.... well, we'll see what happens on Wednesday.

I guess its not too bad, and I should just chill as I'd know about it by now if it was serious !!

If it was anything worth caring about you'd know already. All you'll get is some rubbish question about something you may possibly know something about as you live near somewhere he is investigating something. Don't worry about it :p
