If it's good enough for the VW lot...

Nahhhh

£1,200 doesn't sound much. Would have thought it would be less on something like a classic policy.

Wouldn't a 335i conversion cost a fair penny together with a complete overhaul/rebuild of the rest of the car.

Many years ago there was an E30 2 door with a cosworth engine. Went quite well apparently :)

24 at the end of next month (dear GOD!), 0NCB, bad postcode...If I didn't have a garage, it would be £2,500ish!

Solid 316i = £500
Rusted-to-hell 535i = £200

Strip 535i, put good bits to one side, weigh in shell and sell the spares. Should get £100 at least.

Strip the grubby bits from the 316i, weigh in/sell on.

Then put the good bits from the 535i where the bad bits from the 316i were. PPC called it a 'weekend swap' which to me means 'six weeks of swearing and crying'.

Black one?

I've seen a couple.

One of the guys on Turbosport races a 316 with a turbocharged E30 M3 mill in it. Kicks out nigh-on 500bhp and it's all DIY. Posted it on here before...

ps i dont like those wheels on vws. go to a show and half the mk3s there will have them. as common as chav mk4s on fake audi wheels. *puke*

i've always fancied an E30 325i with some 17" wheels and a slightly lowered stance for handling over looks. :)

a nice black one with a nice clean look about it i.e. debadged, no chrome etc.

strange thing is a 325i is cheaper to insure than my 1.8D. how's that work!?
