Searching for this through Google shopping produces a couple of sites that claim to have >20 in stock. I have e-mailed them to get written clarification that this correct but would obviously prefer to buy from here if possible.

Are these imminent on OCUK can anyone confirm?

Well, I've just got a reply from one of the retailers;

Code:
Thank you for your enquiry.

This item is currently out of stock until the end of the second week of March.

Doesn't stop them advertising over 20 in stock though

How much is it being sold for?

Seen em in other places for ~GONE mark, so pricing is all over atm, always the case when people are putting cards up for pre-order.

Need to see what OCUK get them in at.

Okey dokey - edited.

They've just mailed me back however, stating "Good news" "they have just taken stock of the first batch in the UK"

As they lied in the outset, I am loathe to trust them

Hee hee!

Am getting excited now!

From what I've seen, I'm guessing HIS do not include a molex-PCIe power converter in the box, so am intending to pick up one of those as well, unless anyone thinks differently...

Surely it would be cheaper just to pick up a new PCI-E mobo and get the PCI-E version now than wait for this AGP version that is priced 50% higher than a normal 3850...

You could put the £50 you are paying extra to the new mobo instead and not be limited to AGP cards any more...

Absolutely not.

New motherboard would then mean
new

motherboard
memory
processor
gfx

If your waiting for tech like I am, then this is a cheap boost to see me through.

There were loads of PCI-E 754 boards made :| You could prolly pick one up 2nd hand these days from the bay or the BST forum for peanuts.

Infact I had an SLi 7800GT setup using a 754 3400+ on an EpoX 8NPA-SLI

So there really is zero reason to be limiting yourself to buying AGP cards now, especially at a 50% markup.

You wouldn't need to change your mem or your CPU, just drop in a cheapo PCI-E nForce4 754 board and a normal PCI-E 3850 and you're away.

Well, you learn something new every day. :D

Thought I limited to AGP for the time being.

Nothing on the bay mind - sending out feelers. Shame I can't get onto the buyers market yet :(

edit: it does look like you can still pick them up new actually. Bonus.

Via made a PCI-E chipset board as well ASUS K8V-XE was one.

I think ASRock made a more modern board as well using a later chipset, sec...

K8NF6G-VSTA - 754, PCI-E, based on the newer 6100 chipset :) .
