Goth Clothes Prompted Killing

I see what you mean now penski.

Probably one of the more interesting threads I've participated in thus far. Nice to see a variety of views represented: eloquent ones as well as slightly more polemic or perhaps reactionary ones.

so thanks :)

Good.

Anyone who thinks the clothes they wear define who they are needs a good kicking.

More often than not though thats part of who they are.
I dress how I dress because I want to look good to everyone including myself, not everyone is the same. It's not who I am it's what people percieve me to be. That is myself.
You very rarely see someone in a tracksuit with manners or respect for anyone or anything.

I dress the way I dress because it's ****ing comfortable. Comfort > *

Hang on...You base your own sense of personal identity on the perception of you that is held by others? Bloody hell...either you're really insecure or really shallow.

I do all the time.

Almost everyone I know who wears a suit to work is a complete onanist.

just imagine.

you are out walking and suddenly your partner or friend gets set upon and brutally beaten right in front of you.
then imagine that when you bent down to see if they were able to be helped you were suddenly kicked in the head yourself and then it's just a rain of blows until you pass out.

now imagine you are the friend who went down first and you wake up out of the coma and are told that your friend was killed after they bent down to help you and if they hadn't done that then they would still be alive.

finally imagine that you don't want the perpetrators to die.

What on earth was that all about? : /

Nobody should die for any crime. If you think otherwise then you are no better than they are.

I'm completely passive. If somebody started hurling abuse at me, I'd walk away. If they came after me, I'd run. I'm not a fighter, and I hate violence.

That being said, these perpetrators deserve to die imo. It's the most harsh thing I could ever say, but after reading the transcript in the 'paper this morning, I hate the fact that this kid is still alive.

Miss Lancaster was begging the gang to stop beating Robert Maltby, 21, when they turned on her in Stubbylee Park in Bacup, Lancashire, the jury was told.

The court heard Miss Lancaster's facial injuries were so severe, paramedics did not know what sex she was.
Tests indicated she had been kicked and stamped to death, with the pattern of some footwear still on her head.

As Miss Lancaster kneeled down, cradling her boyfriend's head on her lap and calling for help, the accused and the then 15-year-old youth who has already pleaded guilty to murder, turned on her.
The second boy kicked her in the head, with the accused joining in, the court heard.
Paramedics found the couple lying side by side, covered in blood and unconscious.
