Goth Clothes Prompted Killing

In all fairness I doubt anyone would be able to accurately predict how they would react until something like this actually happened to them. I suppose I could react in a similar way and go on some kind of 'Falling Down' style rampage killing those who caused me harm. I'd be sectioned, but on happy pills and spend the rest of my days trying to come up with 7-letter-words on countdown. That doesn't necessarily make me 'chav scum', rather, hideously vindictive and prone to revenge. :)

We're all able to read the link in the OP, thanks...

You're still as bad as the perpertrator of that crime if you wish him to die.

Well, Considering our last 2 posts were deleted, I'll just say, I'm far from a Chav, and I disagree, If someone I loved was maliciously murdered. And It was unprovoked, then I would want revenge. Plain and simple revenge. Obviously I'm speaking in a ficticious manner, and I may think differently if God forbid it ever happened to me.

But right now, My life revolves around my girlfriend, and making a family with her. For someone to take that away from me.

I'm pretty sure, I'd not be a happy chappy.

But to compare going after someone because he killed a loved one, to going after someone because of the way they were dressed. seems a little silly

Nobody is saying that you would be over the moon about the whole affair.

Murder as an act of revenge (whether vigilante or state-sanctioned) is always as bad as the initial act.

Seeing as you edited this bit in:

Following your logic, someone would then have to kill you for killing the murderer, non?

Good.

Anyone who thinks the clothes they wear define who they are needs a good kicking.

Possibly not define as such, but certainly allow pigeon-holing. Else why do all goths dress in the same way? Why the makeup? Long hair and black clothes?
I know the bloody story you clown, just was confused by your post. Seemed a bit odd really

Makes sense to me. I would want death for them in the same situation as that bloke.

One side was, supposedly, unprovoked.

Quite how they know this is difficult to fathom though.

Really? I'm not entirely sure I agree with that.

Convenient amnesia perhaps...

Even so, provocation is no excuse for murder.

Perhaps. Perhaps not, however the story can't have come from him if he can't remember any of it, so how did they fill in the blanks?

I'm not saying provocation is an excuse for murder. An eye for an eye... It is hardly on the same level as killing in cold blood with your bare hands the girlfriend of a guy you just beat the snot out of though. It just doesn't compare.

Same, If on the other hand, This country still supported the death penalty, and the culplrets were in custody and sentenced in such a way. I'd probably be less quick to jump at the chance of wanting to personally deal with the revenge.

In what respect?

On the one hand you have a cold-blooded killer and on the other hand you have a victim-turned-murderer.

Although both crimes are inherently wrong I don't believe I would look at them both in the same way.

No I dont't either, diminished responsibility for a start.....

Gotta be careful with that though, diminished responsibility verges on an insanity plea.

The death penalty is both a more lenient sentance on the criminal and a harsher sentance on the rest of society.
