Think I'm in love, Boxster RS60 Spyder

Hahaha, you are awesome

TY :)

I could afford a boxter (not new) if I liked, but I don't want money held up in a 'new' car. Thats not the direction I am trying to go with my finances now, hence selling the Celica. What do you know of other peoples finances? Exactly, nothing.

I never criticised it! :D Was sarcastic, clean your dectector.

I was merely having a laugh with your statement, like Lashout UK.. expect you obviously took issue with me saying it and not him.

Hahaha, you are awesome, I was just pointing out its always people who cannot afford a Boxster who criticise them - then you came along and criticised them it just fell beautifully into place :p

I see your point, but I don't see why it is important?
I think the Boxster is a good car, I still think it's ugly at the rear. Were I to come into some money I don't think my mentality would change, it would still be ugly...

Are you only allowed to criticise a car if you can afford it?

I made an observation - not set a rule. I just think it is always slightly amusing that every time a Boxster thread appears on OcUK, usually everyone who hasnt got a Boxster or indeed a car worth anywhere near the cost of a new Boxster, lays into them and slags them off, whereas those who do have cars of that level appreciate them and understand their ability.

It was a prediction I made, and I just found it even more amusing when someone came along and played right into it.

I can't afford a Boxster, either, btw.

To be fair to Fox, no doubt he only really means people who refer to it as a poor mans 911. Fair enough you might not particularly like it, but to label what is generally seen to be a great car as just a poor mans 911 is a little bit silly.

Exactly. It's just odd, thats all, and it's almost always the case. And not just on this forum.

Some good came of it though, Biohazard has been very amusing.

Wasn't the old one that it was "a hairdressers car"? :D

Quick edit: I've only ever been a passenger in a boxster and on quiet roads with the roof down, was great fun. I do not believe in the poor mans 911 or hairdressers car saying. :)

^ yeah that too. My partners step father has one, yellow. He is a bald plump middle aged grave digger. he looks soooo cool! :p thats him, not the car I admit.

The two together look kiech tbh

I think it's a shame Porsche isn't prestigious anymore. I remember getting excited as a kid when I saw one. Still, you can't take away the fact the Boxster is a gorgeous car. I appreciate the small touches that differentiate the models but I feel sorry for people who buy a 911 but average Joe will just think its the "same as the Boxster that auntie Jo's bought" and don't appreciate what it's really about.

Still, it's not about what other people think is it?

Seems to be a Porsche thing, if it isn't a 911 then its crap :p

Janes aunt drove a 944 back in the day and her dad always commented "Yeah but its not a proper Porsche"

How strange it is that you never typically hear Boxster bashing from 911 owners. Most of them are acutely aware of the pro's (and cons) of the 986\987 platforms.

It's almost always some ignorant chaviler\mundano\transit owner who has the misguided belief they actually know something about cars, never mind thinking people actually give a **** about their opinions.

Anyway, rather disappointing it is that we can't have a sensible thread on this forum without it coming to this.

star out swear words. FF.
