Looking to buy a PC desk.. just wondering what you guys have..

- Normal Desk
- Corner Desk

And could you please try and post a pic ;) Im into corner desks at the moment but I cant seem to find any decent ones anywhere! Well.. quality ones anyway :D

I built mine myself, its a long pine surface that goes down the short wall of my room :) lots of space, cheap and cheerful.

tbh building it yourself is much better then buying some expensive random desk that is seperate from the room, if that makes sense. My desk is seperate where as parents office is all built into the room and looks 100 billion times better.

imo corner desks are only ok as long as they are big and provide space to your left and right, unlike just the normal forward desk that is in a corner, like at my dads he bought a corner desk which sits horriblly in the room and provides nothing extra, infact it only takes space from the room.

Yes, thats what I dont like about some corner desks.. they look like normal desks with one side shaped as a corner.. Instead of having a left and right spread each side..

Anyone got any pics?

I've got a nice wide standard desk. It's great, exactly what I was looking for. Handles both 24" widescreen TFTs with plenty of room to spare.

i 1/2 built my own

i used an old desk that was too short and thin and i bought a big sheet of pine, drilled some new dowel holds and glued it on, voila -new beig desk :)

Nice desk, I'm looking for something much much bigger.. :P Sort of desk that has plenty of space for pc and then also extra space for work on one/both sides.

Some random glass corner desk (sounds a lot better than it is) from Focus.

To those who have built there own wooden desk what material did you use for the top? and how much roughly did the whole thing cost?

Although glass is nice, It wouldnt fit in with my room ;) I'd be looking for something like oak, pine sort of thing.. I also like the fact that on some desks the monitor is raised on a seperate level ;P

Ill whack a pic up soon, but its just a huge plain rectangle desk from B&Q, around 40 quid.

Ive got 1 22" on it at the moment, and there more then enough space for another one.

I got mine for free, 2 in fact!

No idea how much they are worth now but my workplace said they cost £400~ each in 2002 :O

Jonas desk from Ikea.

I've just put one of those together and was quite pleased with it. The slot thing for hiding cables is pretty nifty.

One thing I did find at first though was that there wasn't a great deal of room for your keyboard with the monitor shelf sort of over-lapping a bit, but I've got used to it. Another thing is that they haven't really allowed enough room to put the base unit under it without putting it sideways on or out to the side of the desk.

Apart from those minor niggles I think it's a great desk and smart looking, especially the black version.
