1. Deus Ex - self explanatory
2. Half Life 2 - Few games have involved me so much
3. Football Manager whatever - No game has given me as much gameplay

In no order -
Call of Duty/UO - Blew me away, the expansion pack caused much the same effect.
Mafia - Love it, the setting, music everything...
Star Trek Bridge Commander - so much fun especially with mods.

edit: Can't believe I forgot Starcraft argh! (see sig) oh and Soldiers: Heroes of World War II and Company of Heroes

Only 2 games have ever grabbed me by the balls

MOHAA - Multiplayer the balance of the game is just amazing. Nothing has ever touched it, none that i've played.

wow - The only game ive played where everything in the periphery outside the keyboard and monitor were immaterial to playing a game, including eating, sleeping, family, friends, job. For that reason and a couple of others I quit a couple of years back.

1) Knights Of The Old Republic (Loved this game from start to finish)
2) Oblivion (Should not be started when you have exams)
3) Resident Evil 2 (I love survival horror and for me none of the other RE games came close)

1) Quakeworld: Perfect blend of speed, skill, teamplay and excitement. Must be pretty damn good for me to still be playing it over 10 years after I started :)
2) Far Cry: Probably the best single player FPS I've played. Fantastic graphics and (relatively) open-ended approach to the many varied levels.
3) Deus Ex: Great storyline and characterisation, it successfully managed to blend FPS with RPG while also featuring one of the best designed levels I've ever played (Hong Kong)

Ask me another day and I might choose differently however. KOTOR, COD and NFS5 (Porsche) all run it very close for 2nd and 3rd places.

This is impossible but for me.

Doom - kicked it all off back in 1993.
Deux Ex - Took it all to another level for immersion, choices and gameplay
BF2 - Awesome squad play and immensely fast maps and gameplay in the urban maps.

Others of note include, Unreal tournament and 2003 versions. Half Life, Colin McRae Rally, Farcry - awesome gameplay, Tetris - messed with my mind.

1) Baldur's Gate 2. The greatest RPG of them all.

2) Frontier: Elite 2. This was my third, or fourth PC game. At the time it was utterly involving and the sense of freedom was fantastic. The galaxy on a single floppy disk.

3) UFO: Enemy Unknown. I'd loved the tactical depth of Laser Squad on my old 8bit CPC and played it to death. But UFO was in a completely different league and began to show me just what a PC could be capable of. For the record this was my fifth or sixth PC game purchase.

Looking at the list it's plain I'm living in the past. :o

Ill base this simply on the games which ive played the most as they are the ones that come first to mind.

1. Delta force 2 (ive played this game since 1999, pretty much non stop at the start, now its just a drop in and out kind of game but my squad is still going strong since 99)

2. Deus Ex (my first pc game and at the start i hated it, a game that let me do what i want? i was astounded and didnt actually play the game through till a year or so after i bought it)

3. Oblivion, (this game ate up so many of my gaming hours, first i played through the main quest. 2nd playthrough i did a bit of exploring 200+hrs before i even looked at the main quest. Now on my 3rd playthrough and ive installed all manner of mods including OOO which has made ita different game again, i also got a map marker mod as this will prob be my last playthrough i intend to visit 100% of locations.)

1 - Delta Force 1 (played this through loads of times)
2 - Total Anihilation
3 - Grand theft auto 1 (Nothing like driving a flat car over Hare Kristnas)

1. Call of Duty series - have loved them all but the original was the one that drew me into MP gaming.

2. Half Life 2 - great and still remember that cold December morning waiting for Steam to unlock it. Was not dissapointed.

3. BF2 - although don't play it anymore I have great respect for it and enjoyed almost every minute of playing it despite it being the only game that causes me to swear like a trooper.

1. Final Fantasy XI - my first MMO, played it with four different accounts on four different servers over the years and I keep coming back for more. Has its faults but it truly immersed me in an otherworldly experience. One that I'll never forget.

2. Guild Wars - Played it for a while then quit, then last year I started playing again and have been playing for about 14 months. Really lovely to look at, some nice people on there.

3. Supreme Commander - simply because I've had some really awesome LAN games with friends, and because of the awesome times I've had - it has to rank up there.

N.B. - it's very difficult to pin it down to just three, I'm sure if I gave it more deliberation, I'd narrow it down further but those are the ones from the top of my head.
