Double avatar mayhem?

As of today, I'm seeing two OP avatars but only if the poster is a 'Wise Guy'.
I'm also seeing a Post Reply icon in posts when quoted which, confusingly, works.

There's almost certainly a sticky I'm missing. Anyone care to let me know what the intarweb was doing when I wasn't looking?
