Anyone know why my router keeps going really slow

Got a net gear Dg834G
Dissconnect the recoonect its fin connects about 3-3.5 mbps

Then over time maybe even over night it drops down to something around 360bps
Reboot and the connection goes back up

Anyway i can get it to hold the higher speed??

Cheers

Are you connected wired or wireless? Is your router connected directly to the master telephone socket or a secondary one? Also are you using any form of telephone extension cable?

Sounds like there maybe errors building up on the line which would cause the slow down and eventually a dissconnection.

You mean your router says it's connected at 360kbps, or that's what you get from Speedtest.net?
If your router's connecting at a low rate, you'll get low results from Speedtest until your IP profile increases.

No my router connects at say 3 mbps
Then over the space of 3 hours ish maybe more or less the speed shown on the router status will be down to something like 360kbps

Im just using my old modem to carry out speed test and at the momoent my internet is connected at 3mbps but its just going so so slow

Well im thinking that thats not the case

I have now moved thew router downstairs
It is plugged directly into the master socket using the 2m lead that came with the router

This is how it looked when i got up this morning

Then after a reboot it goes to this again not the fastest connection but t=better than before

I did i had my orange one in last night
That was connected at 1650ish mbps but the internet seemed really slow

Well today has been even worse the router seems to keep rebootin its self os just loosin the connection
One minute im surfing away happy the next unable to find webpage (or whatever it says)
Go into the router status and its not connected as if its restarted

Really starting to bug me now :(

Same thing is happening here

AOL seem to be having profile issues

was on 1mb, then 2mb for a few months, now either 8mb or .25mb!
