Nice watch, just a shame that in my opinion it is just a version of Willy Waving, sort of akin to wearing flash jewelry. However, it's your money and as I said it is a nice watch.

He'd have probably saved himself some money just buying a compact camera and not a bloody ridiculously nice lens (jealous much? yes I am).My mobile phone tells the time and syncs itself - it only cost 100 odd ^_^

Horses for courses, it's the same with anything, you get what you pay for, and in some instances people take more interest into certain things than other. For me if I had the money I could easily spend a grand on a bit of glass (a camera lens) where as a watch is much more valuable to others.
Enjoy it, my mates got a Breitling, it turns heads, great watch.

It was pretty quiet in Meadowhall, arrived at just after 11am and their were plenty of spaces in the car parks. I once went just before Xmas and it was manic in there!!

If you're me, very often, I feel the need to know the time/date fairly frequently!
I thought I was splashing out spending £95 on a Tissot yesterday (retail-therapy due to feeling sour because my Omega is back with the restorers again - their restoration being demonstrably not good enough)!
And mmm there goes the "willy waving" argument again - it isn't really, it's an interest some people have, and choose to spend money on. If we all liked the same stuff, boring World, yada yada...

Nice. I'm tempted to get something like this or an Omega in a few years when i have the money. Ive had my old watch (adidas ) for nearly 10 years now and I`m convinced i`ll make it last until i can get it a proper replacement!

Watches with white dials = fugly imo!

Quality engineering, the feeling of having something of real worth next to the skin, the urge to own something nice.
If you can, why not? And who are you to denounce what other people spend their money on?
I spent /way/ too much money acquiring and restoring my 1956 Omega Ladymatic... it was the smallest mechanical automatic watch of its time, tiny thing, and yet powered by the movement of your wrist, turning a rotor that winds a spring. Amazing.
I don't mean to denounce people - I'm simply curious as to why they spend what I would consider a lot of money on what I would consider a simple timepiece. I never meant any offence.

You've failed to see the point.
It's like saying - why buy a £900 suit when a £25 Matalan one will serve the same purpose. If you can afford £1000, £5000 or £10,000 on a watch, why not?
What people consider expensive is relative - what would be an extravagant, uneccesary purchase to some would be quite appropriate for others... after all, you gotta spend your money on something, otherwise why bother working for it in the first place.
