LOL was going to do a happy birthday pal PS3 thread! Just going to remind the day ones like me that warrenty is about to run out! I wonder how many people have their launch console, i still remember the police following me from the midnight launch in case of any trouble lol, and me staying up till 5am or something playing with my new toy.

Only problem I have with mine is sometimes I can't turn it on with the remote when it's on standby.

But think I got to the root of the problem. Turning It off at the plug when it's on. It's so hard to see when it on its that quiet!!!

Ah, never mind, Apparently it's a competitors store extended warranty, Not direct to sony

i got mine on the 26th, but mines covered until 2009 i do believe

I'm gonna get on to Sony tomorrow morning and see if they'll be nice (or see if my warranty runs from my first replacement or from the launch day).

You were playing "The Club" on it last night weren't you? Either way I am sure they won't know it is 1 day over the warranty? (I guess it depends when you registered it online). I am not too sure how the warranty works for ps3. I think I registered mine online, but can't remember exactly.

Anyway another Launch Day 1 still going strong here (And it's had a fair bit of usage). Having said that, this far into my 360's life I was only 1 RROD down, so all in all I consider myself fairly lucky, so far, this gen.

Yeah, I was seeing if it would do it again. My Xbox360 used to do it on and off, I'm assuming it will be the same problem on the PS3. It did it on GT5p originally, but I didn't have long so I tried to see if it was doing it on The Club.

It's fine at the moment, but I'm weighing it up, having seen mine go funny (and have the same problem that killed my Xbox360) do I swap it, or as it hasn't done it in around an hour of gaming since, do I stick with it. I don't particularly want a refurb, I like my consoles new

No. I'm on my 2nd Playstation 3 now, my first failed with the common Blu-Ray drive fault, but I've not heard of many PS3's dying from anything else really.

I was told when I had my PS3 replaced that you always get a new 12 months warranty when you get your PS3 replaced with a new one.
