Xbox360 or PS3?

I'd personally say the 360, but it really depends on what games on each system take your fancy. Your best bet would be to go to a review site like IGN.com and take a look and see what games you really like and what system they're on. That way you'll be better placed to make an informed decision, rather than listen to others give their opinions

I'd say the sexbox for a few reasons,
They are Cheap, there is a Massive community bubbling & buzzing away, there is a Huge catalogue of Proven games & I have one
Just make sure you check the box before handing over your moneys though as you want one of the 175w ones

Im into FPS, racing, the usual games. Hate MMORPG's and role playing, etc.
Whats so good about the 175w ones?
The only great games for the xbox i know about at the moment are COD4 and GTA4 coming soon and a few racing games + halo ofcourse

Dude, there are LOADS of great games for the 360.
If you get yourself a 360 you have about 2 years worth of AWESOME titles to play, as well as the ones coming out later this year and next.
You won't be disappointed with either, but I personally would choose a 360 if I was in your position.
360s are pretty cheap atm with the recent price cut. I'd go for one, unless you're really bothered about Blu-Ray?
The 175w 360s indicate that it's the latest revision of the 360's innards.. and therefore is (allegedly) less likely to overheat and get the dreaded red rings of death.

So if i was to choose a 360, does the Premium allow HD output or is it only the elite that has an HDMI output?

Pretty sure the new Premiums come with HDMI too now.
depends which of the consoles exclusives you prefer, the games you have mentioned so far are multi format (except for halo of course)
i would normally say ps3 as i prefer their exclusives and think its a better future investment (exclusives, blu ray and media playing capabilities), but right now the 360 has some stupidly good deals on and of course a pretty big library of good exclusive games.
if FPS is your thing though then 360 is a no brainer since they churn them out like no tomorrow.
on the racing side, ps3 has gt prologue coming out soon

Personally i would choose the 360 as it has a larger back catalogue of must have games, plus there's untold bargain games around.
PS3 is lagging bad at the mo, wait awhile for the PS3 to come down in price, theres some great games on the horizon, plus it has the benefit of Blu-ray if thats youre thing.

Yeah i have the wii but it seriously lacks mature games, i just need to play something with violence instead of pretty colours!!

If you want violence then get COD4 as it's pure in your face Brutality. Forza2 is a must have as well, it's my personal fave game on the sexbox as i play COD4 on my PC even though i have a copy of COD4 for the sexbox. Either way no gamer should be without a copy of COD4.

CoD2 - above average
CoD3 - Slightly better than 2
CoD4 - is a superb game, highly recommended
Gears Of War - 3rd person (not 1st) i find it a little repetetive, tis ok in short bursts.
The Darkness - Pretty decent gothic style fps.
Condemded - can be had for a bargain and is an above average game (Condemded 2 due out shortly)
F.E.A.R. - Superb fps.
MoH - Airbourne, very polished shooter, bit on the short side, although theres is quite abit of replayability there.

Whilst the combat in Mass Effect is FPS it's primarily an RPG, and you said you hate RPGs
It is however one of my favourite games and depending on what you dislike about RPGs it might still be worth a look.
