Anyone been watching this? What did you think of the chart?

Personally, i thought a few were missed out but could have been considered in a totally different genre.

On a side note - does anyone know where i can find the list on the internet?

It sucked hugely.
I hate how any chart is 'offical', so they ask a few people who they like.
MCR were number 1? the list would be ok if it was 'best rock bands of the last year'
/rant
and sorry I can't help with the list :)

Man i got few up by the teens, such a pile of dross.
Sorry but how can metallica be as high as 27? And having panic!/fall out boy/medina lake even in the chart, let alone above the likes of system and GnR is simply a travesty. I stopped watching it at medina lake, just a joke.

Apparently, a band called 'Paramore' (sp) are better than Queen according to that chart! Hmm.

I'm definately getting old though as I predicted number one would be 'My Chemical Valentine'. I knew what I meant!!!

The bullet for my chemical disco!

I'm assuming there is only one website for The Hits here? Because I can't seem to find anything relating to the chart/competition although that is perhaps just as well for my blood pressure because if My Chemical Romance are the greatest rock band of all time then I'm a Dutchman.

It's The HITS. Really, what did you expect?!?!?

Quoted for truth.

The Hits is watched by kids. Kids like bands like MCR and Fall Out Boy more than Queen or Zeppelin or any other rock band that they weren't around to hear because they discover most of their music via The Hits and other channels and they play these bands more often. MCR happen to be one of the most popular rock bands around now and has a large, generally very young fanbase. MCR top a list of best rock bands voted for by viewers of The Hits.

Seriously, what DID you expect? Did you honestly believe that this would have any credibility? Were you expecting 12 year olds to vote en masse for GnR?

EDIT: Actually, I am not sure if this was voted. If not, then the concept remains. The kids watching want to see the bands they like finish high in the chart so as they are the target audience, The Hits makes sure they do.

Unfortunately, the kids are deciding what are the greatest bands of their lifetimes.

It goes in cycles, old people couldnt stand the beatles, the kids loved them, the spice girls, boyzone, Guns and Roses what ever.
My Chemical Romance are certainly more entertaining than a good deal of the old tramps sweaty bollards that is out there at the moment.

While I would never place My Chemical Romance at the top of MY list of the best rock bands, I actually found the one album I have of theirs (The Black Parade) to be a pretty damn good rock album - they can put a decent tune together. Then again, I had never seen a photo of the band, or paid much attention to the whole emo thing. I never watch music TV (any channel - apart from an hour of Kerrang about six months ago - it was horrible!). I bought it on impulse based on one off-hand comment I saw on here and was pleasantly surprised.

And for what it's worth, GnR are my all-time rock band....oh the memories that come flooding back when I think about the impact they had on a group of teenagers back then :D

Fall Out Boy and MCR higher than Trivium, Metallica, KSE, Megadeth, and many other metal and rock legends?

What sort of ****ing planet is this.

Haha. Are you joking? I concur in the consensus on here, that this didn't really chart the 'BEST' rock bands of all time.. But the people that voted for them obviously felt that that's exactly what they were. What sort of ****ing planet is this? A planet where people have a different taste in music to you. :p

True, however some of the bands listed above don't even venture into the rock arena by any stretch of the imagination. Reel Big Fish are ska, Sex Pistols and The Clash are almost the epitome of punk etc etc. It doesn't really matter that much I suppose, even if I'd agreed with every single classification I doubt I'd agree on the order so vive la difference or something. :)

Most of the top 10 have been recently released, so all the dumb teenagers that love MCR will pump for them. Just proves that whoever voted in this hasn't really got much of a clue about music.
