*** STOLEN 2006 FORD FIESTA ST ***

Probably a little irrational, but I wouldn't want it back incase it was badly ragged from cold and has unforseen engine damage. That aside I just don't like the idea of driving it after its been broken into and stolen by some *****.

Exactly. Plus that's why you pay for insurance, incase things like this happen.

Protected no claims anyone?

I'm sorry to hear about your car, but I agree with other people, if my car was stolen, and I had the chance of getting it back, I'd say "no thanks", and take the money.

You really can be un-necessarily an insensitive ***** sometimes Fox, there really was no need, the guy has just had his car stolen.

Yeah fox you are so insensotive....

Ben lighten up. There is something a little futile in looking for a very common car in the most populated area of the UK.

What's the harm in keeping an eye out? There might be someone from the Fiesta networks who lives in the south east who might just spot it one day and might be able to pass the information on, assuming it's not already been taken a long way away. It's a long shot, but you never know...

I think this sort of thread usually only works when the car is rare, exotic or unique and is likely to be offered for sale reasonably quickly - in cases like that having the web communities aware of whats going on can sometimes help (but usually doesnt).

For a Fiesta ST (Or a silver BMW incase you start the OMG ELITIST crap) I'm afraid unless the local police find it, it's gone and in the hands of the insurance company - posting on forums probably wont help.

At least with it being a reasonably new Fiesta ST it will be easy to replace it with another one just as good. Having your car nicked must absolutely suck. The fact its gone without the keys is worrying - means none of us are really safe :(

when i was 14 i had my push bike stolen, it was an awesome giant bike and i loved it but after i got it back it never felt the same afterwards and i stopped cleaning it and it feel into ruin as i didnt love it anymore

True, but there may be a tiny chance. It probably wont help. but if you don't post anything at all then it definately wont help. Only takes a few minutes to make a forum post.

Indeed. There was no sign of any smashed glass or anything apparently, so it probably wasn't just some local scrote out for a joyride. We had a cruise around some of the local dives anyway but no sign of it. I would imagine its a long way away by now.

What an excellent point, OP I feel you should take advantage of your insurance.

The more people looking the better as far as im concerned. Thats gotta be better than just me and the police! Currently Im sat here in limbo with keys but no car!

Has anyone here actually had their car stolen and can tell me how long it could take for the insurance company to decide to pay out?

If its gone, its gone - I can deal with that. Its the amount of problems its going to cause through no fault of my own.

Doesnt seem like you can own anything nice these days!

Sorry to hear about your car ....

Unfortunately like many other threads fox posts in, this is soon going to spiral into a "FOX IS A *****" thread.

My mate had an N reg fiesta stolen a few years back, insurance paid out pretty quickly and then the car was found by the police. He didn't buy it back or anything and that was that.

Who is your insurer mole? Some people here might have experience of theft claims with them and can tell you how long it will take. Seems like a pretty straightforward case of theft and you've still got the keys so I cant see it being a problem.

Its all fully comp through Adrian Flux with a company called Trinity Lane. Im hoping it will be quite quick but I dont know if I should be expecting days, weeks, months or what.

I've always though of trackers as being a waste of money and "it'll never happen to me, its only a fiesta". Definately learnt a big lesson from this!

Ive always wondered about stolen cars, is there a set period of time whereby if the car isnt found in say 2 weeks then the insurance pay out? or does it vary from insurer to insurer?

Without knowing all the details I have to say that will properly suck if insurers put provisions on their policy where you first have to wait and see if a stolen car is recovered.

Like others I just wouldn't want a car back after it's been nicked by a bunch of scrotes, or even scrotes with money.
