I have the BFG version of this card and was wondering if anyone had overclocked it.

It came with stock speeds of 550/800 and I've upped it to 600/800 and it seems to be fine. Just wondering how far you can puch these things.

The Fatal1ty version is clocked much higher - so you should be able to push it up to that level with no problems. I'm gradually upping mine and haven't had any problems (currently at GPU clock - 600MHz, memory 900Mhz, shader @ 1500Mhz).

If you get the latest version of Rivatuner, incresing the shader clock makes more of a difference than the other two.

Hi
Got my PNY 8800GTS from stock 512MHz/793MHz to 600/900 on stock cooling, and have been stable for 6 months or so (620/900 causes instability). Play a lot of COD4/Armed Assault (which can be cruel on systems) though the card can run up to 70 'c. I use Riva for the overclock. I'd also like to swap for a faster card (non SLI/Crossfire due to issues with Arma) but don't think 8800GT/GTS 512 would merit the swap.

Similar results here,

Just replaced them but running 600/900/1400 everyday with the occasional run to 640/1000/1500.

Cheers, Simon.

Also am I right in saying that the the GT's and possibly the 512 GTS's are based on different cores, so its not good for me to compare their overclocks with my card?

iv got the 320 BFG OC aswell, i got bored when i hit 632/891. It went further but i dont even have that overclock on anymore, its just a profile iv saved.
I dont even have my c2d 4300 running overclocked either nowadays.i find the performance from both to be perfect.

thats right, the newer gt/gts use the smaller 65nm g92 core and are a bit faster than the older 8800gts series, clocks on the new cards are usually, 650/972/1625 for the core memory and shader.

Ive got mine at 610/908/1429 but im not sure of how to stress test that? Ive run 3DMark06 successfully but is there any easier way?
Do one 3DMark run to check initial stability, if that has no image corruption just play some games, if they don't show corruption and/or lock up continue overclocking.
