I'm going to go out on a limb here and say no. A folding bike is inherantly a compromise and one for under £100 is definitely going to be so, as for the rear suspension on it - hah.

If you want quality then I'm afraid, as with all bikes, you pay for it. Birdy Bikes are probably the best folding bikes I've seen in my very limited search for them, however they do cost 10x that sort of price so I suppose you have to weigh up exactly how much you want/need the quality.

£100 for a folding bike? How durable is the folding mechanism going to be at that price level?

A quality folding bike is going to cost more than £80. That thing will probably fold on you whilst you're riding, and you'll be run over by a truck.

whats the name of the company that makes the traditional london folding bikes?
i remember seeing them a lot in london

I think you mean £800 and not £80

It looks like cheap Chinese rubbish, and I doubt the mechanical side of it would be reliable or safe with continued road use.
