Hey guys,

Possibly more suited to the photography forum, but i'm guessing it'll get more interest here :p

On a more motors related note, i'm actually really enjoying the drive! It's a bmw 320D MSport in Le Mans blue, which on this revision makes 175bhp and aint half bad for a 4 pot diesel!

The sports seats and wheel are sublime, as is the build quality. Really well put together, everything is easy to get to and things like the bluetooth phone prep works fantastically at any speeds due to the sound dampening.

Hit the backroads and the handling is spot on, even if the wheel doesnt give you as much feedback as perhaps you'd expect (not as good as the e46 in that respect anyway), but it certainl does go where you point it, or with DTC off, where your foot points it :D Certainly isnt scared of getting the rear out, but is completely progressive when it does.

All in all, it's the most complete car i've driven to date assuming the 3l petrol version does everything this does but adds the revviness and the bit of speed this is lacking! Going to test drive one at some point soon and see how quickly i could adjust my finances towards getting one in the next year or two :x

I've driven a lot of reasonably quick/desirable cars, and this is the first car ive got out of (despite it not being that quick) and thought yea, i want one, bar the elise 111R but that was more my heart saying it than both head and heart :p

Tom.

Another OcUK BMW victim! The entire country will be driving one soon :p

They are nice cars though, so it's understandable. :)

RG-Tom, please tell me you're not being converted to the BMW side :(;)

I mean i like BMW's but they're simply........just too "common" these days.

Great photo's there Tom! :eek::cool:

You like the 320d? - The same engine is quite nippy in an e60 5 Series! - Just wait until you try a 6 pot diesel, frankly, I'd be surprised if you wanted a 6 Pot petrol (and its thirst) after.

Your Mondeo just won't be the same now, you know this don't you? ;):(

Aye, if they were crap, they would not have the following.

(I'm an old school Ford fan but now converted to the Axis....) :o:)

Posted twice rather than edited the above.

I must not be a Blatant Spammer, please ban me. :oTa.;)

As an owner of a 530d, I wouldn't say that :P The 530i is fairly epic.

Tom - I hope you aren't disappointed when you sit back into your Mondeo after a couple of weeks in the 320d!

Tom.

We have a 320d SE with manual as our loaner (hey, we can be accident buddies!), and its crap, how they can consider it as a successor to the e46 is beyond me. Luckily it will be changed next week to a 525d sport
It's not planted at speed and it doesn't feel as good quality either, isn't very fast but I don't expect it to be.

Handles good though, like all BMWs.

Quickly go and try and pick up chicks! :D

Tom - any luck with recruitment company i mentioned in your GD thread?

maybe the se suspension is crap?

what age is it? the 07 plate got the newer 2l 175bhp engine, vs 160 ish of the older ones.

this is very very stable at speed, i've been quite (understatement) quick in this and it was extremelty settled. ket's just say that I had a test blast on the way to london at 1am and the book top speed doesn't lie :)

I wouldn't - the new EfficientDynamics petrols make the diesels seem silly :p

330i is in a lower CO2 company car tax band than the 330d and has a lower list price!

Do you buy a car for yourself or everyone else? If its for everyone else then yea, I guess the fact you might see others on the road may bruise your ego but if its for you, who cares if every other car is the same provided you enjoy it?
