My watercooling setup has thrown me a snake-eyes, when the pump failed and my q6600 has gone into meltdown.

Lost 3 days work so far, and won't be getting a replacement until Tuesday/Wednesday.

Make hay etc...

Ouch. Don't the CPUs turn themselves off if they overheat?

They should. I forgot to plug in my pump a couple of times after fiddling and it always shut down during the Windows loading screen. And each time it took a few reboots before I cottoned-on to what the problem was :o

Put the quad in another machine and it seems to be running fine, so next test is the MB.

Since I've already ordered a replacement quad, it looks like this one might find it's way over to my parents pc, but don't tell the wife ;)

15 years of practice :)

MB seems to be the point of failure. Tried with a E6400 and had the same issue ie would start to boot first time then fail. Second fail at checking the proc.

Only got it in December so hopefully should still be covered by warranty, given that the proc shut down correctly (fingers crossed)
