Antec 900 Cable Management

I didnt you could put the power supply upside down like that :( I better change my one asap currently facing down, I was thinking I could cut/drill holes under the bottom of the case but turning it upside down would be easier.

Come on guys, use your nogin, :D its just common sense....

I've just built a quad core machine with the Antec 900 and my main priority was to make sure the most of cables weren't in the way of the airflow from the middle fan (I've removed the HDD cage). I've got 3 HDDs in the lower cage, one DVD drive at the top and a large amount of space to sort the cables out :) Its interesting to see that you put the 6 pin connector round the top booyaka - I put it across the top of the board, I guess it doesn't make much of a difference.

I'll post some pics when I get my camera sorted. One thing's for certain is that next time I build a machine I'm getting a case with a removable mobo tray - its a bit cramped for my large hands :)

Use a dremel then it can look like mine :)

Just gotta turn the hard drives round the other way when i get right angled power and sata cables for them

for the record my psu was a tad hot:eek::eek: when i check it at the weekend. (roasting is probably more accurate!!:D)

Will need to snip some of the cable ties and rewire slightly again as the leads are switched to the other side.

No dremeling from me but if i had more time i would do that also.

Reading this thread made me try to tidy up my bombsite of a case. I took about an hour, and a load of duck tape;) but now it looks so tidy, through the window.

If I get time/remember later then I'll post a pic.

Yeah please do. I know there are plenty of 900 threads but i'll think i'm going to use this one as a base for all my case mods etc.

God I hate cable management - this case is just as bad as my previous Lian Li which I thought was bad :P.

I have this case and although I tried to be neat at first it cleared got the better of me. At the end I have so many cables the side barely fits on due to huge bulges of mass cables. There's just seemingly nowhere to tuck them away and I do not have a dremel or something to make space.

Will be rebuilding with new gear, my PC, at the weekend but I think I will try and find someone local to do it for me, although I can it's just SUCH a hassle getting it nice and neat.

Dont send your hdd power cables behind the tray, just gather the cables up, so theres just enough to go from the psu to the hdds and use wire ties to keep them like that. Oh yeah Do them 1 at a time too.

The only things I have behind my tray, is the main power lead, pcie lead, all sata cables and 1 sata power lead going to the dvd drive.

Like I have said in a previous post, sort the cables out without your motherboard in.

ok , heres a pic with the side off , and i have turned my hard drives round the other way now ;)

Just gotta tidy up the dvdrw cables now, when i got time ;)

btw , yes the psu is upside down , i made a template of the psu marking out the fan and cut a hole the same diameter in the bottom of the case , if you do this dont put your case onto carpet as your psu will overheat!!

Thats the tidyest 900 ive seen,, I would have thought with the drives facing the other way the leads would get caught in the fan???

you need to use right angled sata cables and i had to cut off the sata power connectors from my psu lead and fit flush fitting connectors to the wires :) then you can feed the wires through the side of the hard drive bay (like the fan wires) and out to the other side of the motherboard tray. But if any one asks i have got special wireless hard drives ;)
