My understanding is that side exhausts are perfectly legal as long as they pass emission and noise regs. The Zen Performance scoob has a side exhaust, and an MoT, and is legal. I've heard people say the exit must be off-side, but I've not found a law to confirm it.

This guy is a legend. Couldn't stop laughing while reading that thread.

Fair play to him though to be honest... he obviously doesn't care, and in all probability, he could be doing some pretty decent quality work in a few years time. He certainly has more guts than I do when it comes to fiddling around with a motor.
