Coffee - any Coffee Lovers in here?

:D. On another note, bought my gf a gaggia for her birthday a few months back and she hasn't used it yet because she's scared she'll break it. Women :(:p

depending on which one it is she'll have a hard time breaking it - they are pretty well made :)

I've had a couple of good rants about what makes decent coffee on here, i'm sure if you were so inclined you could find one ;)

I love coffee,

bought a coffee machine but you can't beat ground up beans. mmm I want a cup now,

Back in a bit getting a coffee

On a more serious note, I loves my coffee. I've got my own coffee machine in my room at home :D I'm an espresso and turkis coffee drinker with a bit of Grappa to add to the flavor after all I am part italian

Italian coffee, best around IMO. I've got a cheapo Espresso machine in my room too. I get my coffee freshly ground from a little coffee shop at the top of my local high street.

i love coffee, what's the one where the beans get eaten by some creature then pooped out and it's supposed to be the best coffee in the world but is rare and expensive? I want to try that. atm i make do with packets of ground stuff from the super market, the stronger the better generally.

there's no such thing, it's too cold in Italy for coffee to grow ;)

There's Italian roast, but it's no different to French Roast.. it just means that the beans have been roasted far longer than usual, so have a caramel/toffee taste to them.

Just had to Google that...think it's Kopi Luwak

"Kopi Luwak is the most expensive coffee in the world, selling for between $120 and $600 USD per pound"

I've just opened my last pack of Jamaican Blue Mountain :( (I came back with about half a suitcase of the stuff after my visit last year)...

Just as well that the in-laws are out there at the moment and are bringing me the next load. Mmmmm..... :D

Ooooh is that the stuff that is about £12 for 125 Grams in Whittards - what is it like? I have always been tempted.

We've got an espresso machine at work and I love it. When I leave there I'll be getting one for at home. We use ESE size pods which is basically Gaggia, Illy etc coffee in a foil wrapped pod so there's a lot less mess than using grounds in the cup. So convenient and no cleaning.

It's quite a mild coffee, but beautifully smooth and aromatic.

Whilst it is very nice, I'm not sure I'd pay UK prices for it. I got my supply from non-tourist sources whilst I was over there, so probably paid no more than typical supermarket coffee over here :D

anyone want to spec me a grinder, beans and a machine that will let me make a decent espresso but also a latte should I be in the mood?

Don't want to spend much TBH... Just want to try it out, as I do love my coffee, and if grinding beans is this much better, it needs to be tried.

The other thing I'm after at some point is an Aeropress (Flibster recommended it the last time this topic came up), faster and apparantly better than a cafitiere for single cups.

Aeropress is now available at a damn good price from Hasbean

Gaggia Classic
Iberital MC2
A selection of different beans to try.
Good 58mm tamper

Looking at ~ £350 for the lot - will make fantastic coffee.

I'll drink just about any flavour of coffee, and i'm quite fond of iced coffee drinks too.

I expect a beating for this but the best coffee "drink" i've had is the Iced Double Mocha Macchiato from Starbucks. So refreshing, and ultra-yummy. :D
