Now that my computer is capable of running it I'm going to install FSX. I remember reading that something has to be altered to get a 16x9 display instead of the default 4x3. Is this correct?

on other news.. are you good at FSX??? for example, can you do a flawless flight of a 747?

Yes, because a lot of a pilot's training is down to extraordinary situations that just don't crop up in your average FSX flight. Jets are easy to fly but hard to master.

Theres a massive difference between being able to fly the stock aircraft and for this threads sake, the PMDG 747.

Yes but pilots dont use FSX. The simulators they use are a lot more advanced than the standard MS Flight Sims we all are accustomed to. I wouldn't particularly say that jets are 'easy' to fly, it takes years of training to be able to fly one let alone master it.

I highly doubt anyone could do a flawless flight of a 747 including following every procedure needed before, during and after flight, without pilot training. Its not as easy as flying the jet up and landing, a lot more instrumental things are needed.

Indeed they do. People have actually built their own at home for FSX, which would be really cool. But at the price, you may aswell train to be a pilot

What do you mean by flawless. Do you mean follow procedure? Because its likely different with different operators anyway.

My main aircraft is the 'LearJet', easy to fly and fast. I've flown it right around the world in FS9. Mainly VFR, one or two legs per day. Still took ages.

Does anyone have a round the world flightplan? I wouldn't mind doing it again in FSX.

No idea I'm not a pilot. Combat sims are usually more what I'm into, though I do take flight sim for a spin every now and then. I don't do it properly though. I have mates who are pilots, and then I don't think they follow the rule book when they mess about in flight sim either.
