I was just coming home from work and was at some traffic lights when a Saxo pulled up next to me with two lads in, I think it was a VTR. I knew they wanted some traffic light grand prix action so I obliged and when the lights went green we both nailed it.

The road was quite wet and even though I only used ~50% throttle maximum my wheels were spinning to high hell and I just could not get the power down. The Saxo powered ahead and I was left feeling rather embarrassed! I guess the crappy Linglong 215 profile tyres on the rear didn't help my cause too much, either!

Anyone else have any embarrassing stories?

The grins on their faces was what embarrassed me the most :( I also feel embarrassed that I didn't spell 'embarrassed' properly in the thread title :(

Ha ha. Yeah, tell me about it. They were what the car came equipped with when I bought it. I plan on getting some falken 452s or perhaps eagle f1s next month. I was waiting for the tread to wear down on the current ones before I bought new.

200 + horses in a Mid rear???

do you have a death wish,

can i be a benificary in your will please :)

Lets just say that they are coping ok if I don't floor it in the wet. Normal to 'spirited' driving they are fine. Just gotta be careful :p

The grip increase from ditch finders to conti eco 3's on my 106 was immense never mind a MR2 Turbo! Stop being a ***** and get some proper rubber on :p

250 bhp at the fly going through 215 linglongs? thats not good!, you want at least 225 on the rear with a good proven compound. You have the wrong profile totally on plastic tyres, it really is asking for trouble, i wouldnt even go out in the car nevermind racing at the lights and a 90bhp saxo has just proved you this...
