Anyone picking this up? It comes out next week.

I've just been playing the demo on the 360 (it's on Xbox Live now) for the last hour or so and I was quite impressed.

Graphically the players look quite realistic, I'd say the FMV shots when play stops is roughly on par with the in game graphics of Fight Night Round 3.

Gameplay has changed, passing feels very slick and the control you have is very nice.

It's been tweaked again since Fifa 08 and again you need to get used to it a little.

The demo is a full game, France vs Germany in the rain :)

Kits look damp, puddles on the pitch look slightly odd but the ball spins uncharacteristically when it goes over the puddles which adds a sense of realism.

I was in two minds about picking this up, but I may grap it anyway.

Even if it's just as a stop gap to Fifa 09 :p

The demo was great fun, Can't wait for FIFA 09. However theres no chance I'll buy this.

1.) I prefer playing with club teams

2.) I can't justify buying 2 football games a year (ignoring FM)

So no matter how good it is, I'll be happy with FIFA 08 until next years edition I think.

Gamer TM give it 8/10 in the new issue, saying the game has improved in most areas over Fifa 08, giving more control to the skill stick, better shooting, everything we knew fromt he demo really.

Looking forward to it, hopefully the release date will be broken.

I was really thinking the same thing, but with the improvement shown in the demo I might pick it up.

hmm, I am getting a PS3 in June after exams, and am going to get rid of my 360, so FIFA 08 included. I was originally deffo going to get FIFA 08 on the PS3, because I loved it so much on my 360, or should I just go for the new EURO 08 until FIFA 09 comes out?
Or should I not get any and just hold myself...

England are in it according to that review.

When playing as England, for example, we found taking on Macedonia as difficult as Steve McClaren did; the AI stuck lots of players behind the ball, who then proceeded to tackle as though their lives depended on it.

I'm presuming they're in the modes where you start right at the beginning of Euro 2008, right at the qualification rounds.

I swear England in football games is half the reason so many stupid football fans think that England are one of the best sides in the world and that every tournament is 'our tournament' If you went by games, Owen would be the fastest striker in the world who scores 4 times a game.

The english media is the reason its englands tournament everytime, they build them up, and knock em down.

after playing the demo , i thought it is a step foward from fifa 08 , the passing seems a lot better to me

but im unsure if i will buy i will wait for fifa 09

I had another proper go on this last night and I quite like it now. I am hoping that this is the platform for FIFA 09, perhaps with a few more slight improvements.

I will probably pick this up as I have £80 worth of vouchers to spend in a local shop.

Personally I won't be picking this up, will wait for Fifa 09.

I see it as if you buy this game, then buy Fifa 09, then you're a sucker. Fifa 09 will contain a world cup mode, include the same teams, but with an update to date roster and full league teams.

Just not worth the money, even if the demo was real good fun.
