The next Gen thread - R700 and GT200

That's only because you dismiss the results that you don't like and choose to favour results that use canned benckmarks, fixed timedemos and cutscenes, you might as well just run 3dmark06 and buy cards based on that alone. :rolleyes:

How about this another new game, DX10, whats wrong with the X2?

Oh gnoes the dreaded rolleyes. :rolleyes:

I love it when people like you post and have no idea of my card history and basically hint at me being a fanboy. Nothing short of amusing but i'll leave you to your little dillusions.

As said no review is perfect and using actual gameplay does bring in the element of human error into the scenario especially when they say the gameplay tests are identical.

oh they should release something new fast with good amount performance in it not like refreshment cards as im craving to buy something for pc but there is nothing to buy to increase performance i having already :eek:

Card history means nothing, I couldn't care less what your using or have used in the past. So you think there consistantly making mistakes on only the 3870X2 runthroughs? Next your going to tell me there’s a conspiracy between all the sites that do “gameplay” based reviews and there all purposely trying to discredit the X2, well at least that’s statistically more likely than them making errors on all the 3870X2 runthroughs and none on the 8800Ultras.

What Gerard is trying to explain is that unless the tests are identical for each card then there is going to be an element of bias in the result, intentional or otherwise.

I'm sorry, thats just BS, they did exactly the same runthoughs on both cards over three runs and took the average, they would have noticed any unusual drops and redid the test, the chance of a site like pcper, [H] or even driverheaven doing that in every single X2 runthough where it loses is nile and you know it, so it just comes down you just calling the reviewers biased again because you don't like some or all of their results.

lol, :D

Also have to love how a thread about the next cards to come out has deteoriated into old arguments about sites testing methodology. *yawn*

Just to get this straight in my head, the new ATI range, (4xxx) is set to use the R700 chip which is essientally 2xRV770's bolted together, as shown Here?

I've just in the mid process of upgrading my PC (starting from scratch actually!), im almost at the point where i need to get a new graphics card, so im thinking of getting something like the PNY GeForce 9600 GT 512MB GDDR3 which is a bargin at £81 until the release of the new ATI range, after which i can slot the new 9600 into my media center.

Yeah does make you think why they never moved to 8900 after 8800, its like they said, "lets use 9800, **** those ***** off". :D

Maybe they were meant to be called 8900s, but some one in nvidia is dyslexic, it'd atleast explain the same performance. :D ;)

But, that's what you're doing, did you actually read their opinion on the performance? I know for a fact that Assassain's creed doesn't benefit from the second GPU on an X2, so the results there are what you'd get with a 3870. I have actually ran it on my own PC on my X2, and a friend's who has crossfire 2900s, crossfire on or off didn't make a difference to the performance. Also, stop slagging people off who say things you don't like, others aren't slagging you off, even though there's many reasons they could *cough* terrible spelling * cough* ;)

Or they may ditch the Geforce name for something else.

Hope so, once again I find myself ready to press the 'buy now' button and having to hold off. And again, I fear if I wait untill june/july, I will end up saying, what the hell, I will wait for nehalem (spelling?) while am at it. Which add's another six months onto that time scale.

Nvidia seems to be very cavalier in it's approach to the market with these 9800's, and, there almost seems to be a biassed towards them in any tech site I look at (in the forms), so ATI arent given a shout.

Am really hoping for something rather special come summer from both the companies, but, it probably be yet another progressive improvement. Think we would all love to see the jump of 7 to 8 series again, but for that we would be paying through the nose for it, and not any time soon :\

Hi,

had Nvidia inhouse (kinda late) and NO its not an G92 derivate. Its the next NVIDIA Chip Generation (no name yet)
nothing to do with the G9x chips...

Some notes I made:

D10U-30 -> 1024MB GDDR3 -> 512Bit -> 225Watt - 250Watt power consumption [connectors: 2x4 (8pin) & 2x3 (6pin)]
D10U-20 -> 896MB GDDR3 -> 448Bit -> 225Watt - 250Watt power consumption [connectors: 2x4 (8n) & 2x3 (6pin)]

Supporting Hybrid Power & Hybrid Boost.....get your power supply prepared for the 8pin connectors in the future ^^
