That sounds like it would do damage, I have no idea, but wouldn't this build up allot of unwanted pressure?

No, the worst that would happen is a bit of compressor surge. Not healthy for the turbo in the long run, but as soon as it happens I'd know from the noise and stop boosting.

But if it leaks then surely that's gonna mess the fuelling and stuff up?

If it leaks it just won't make the boost it's supposed to, it'll just mean a loss of power, again not an issue and easy to sort.

If it sticks shut it'll just do what mine was doing at the RR. You know that pigeon noise... I think it was you who was asking how I did it?

It's just the air going back through the compressor.

Compressor surge sounds awesome, I'd run without a BOV permanently if it didn't strain the turbo so much..

You pay for the name with a lot of these products. It's not going to leak just because it is cheap.

Fuelling wont be affected it if leaks, it doesnt have a AFM.

That's what I was wondering, wasn't sure if the Teg had an AFM or not.

If not, then it's only gonna be down on power, better that than have the ECU chuck fuel in after a gear change I guess.

The wont leak on boost anyway. The same pressure is acting on the back of the valve as it trying to push it open.

I was thinking of getting one of those HKS "knock off" valves, I can't full make out from the description if it needs to be welded somewhere or if you can just use some samco like my "blitz" one

You can do one of three things:

1. Get the supplied flange welded to a charge pipe.
2. Get one of these adapters that just attach to a piece of samco like any other BOV.
3. Get one of these, it goes between two charge pipes with couplers.

I'm just going to take a charge pipe into work and get the supplied flange welded to it.

Nice progress seems to be being made, makes my ice install that i'm currently undertaking look like a walk in the park. Yet i'm stressing like mad about it. Once again cant wait to see the finished article.

who cares? when it fails fit a bigger one! dump valves sound so pony compared to chatter.

Looking forward to seeing this done. Impressed you'd take it on yourself, I'm afraid I'm much more of a chequebook mechanic :o.

Haven't really got any more done, I'm going to wait till my Golden Eagle head gasket arrives before I split the engine. I'm not working on it over the weekend either ;)

But here, have some more pics of parts for now:

Dumptube/screamer pipe:

RC eng. 650cc injectors:

Intercooler kit (it's bigger than it looks in this pic, and plenty big enough for my power goals):

And the 'main event', the turbo :D :

That's most of the parts here now, still waiting on my catch-can, BOV, exhaust manifold and oilcooler/filter relocation kit. Oh, and the head gasket.
