Project 'sillyteg'

Yep, the screamer pipe attaches to the wastegate outlet to dump the exhaust gasses being bled by the wastegate.

Ben.....

You know where that screamer pipe needs to exit...

If you have it pointing out the closest bodypanel, ready to spit flames at the atmosphere I'll do anything. I'll adopt your dog. I'll walk your kids. Anything. :D

Looking good !

and yes... as said on the other page turbo flutter as I call it.. ( compressor surge ) is an awesome sound :D

Nice IC Ben. Looks a decent size.

Did you get the pipework to suit or did it buy it all custom?

How much did it cost you all in?

It was a full 'kit' to suit the Integra, only £250 shipped

:D

Closest body panel would be either straight up out of the bonnet, or straight forward out of the grille ;)

I've come to the conclusion on reading this thread that you are insane Drexel. Also after all the uprated parts on your teg I'm not sure it should be badged as one anymore.. it's a completely new model of car. ;) should be a lot of fun though when complete :D

OK, after waiting a while for my Golden Eagle headgasket to turn up, it finally arrived and I've now got the engine built-up and ready to go back in the car:

(Sorry again for the crappy phone pics.)

As you can see, I'm going to have serious radiator clearence issues if I leave the turbo and dumptube in that position, so what I'm going to do is turn turbo around so the hotside/coldside swap places, this will bring the turbo much closer to the block and give me clearence infront of the rad (I have bought two slim fans for the rad already). Obviously this will mean modifying the downpipe so it is the opposite hand, but that's no biggie. I'll then also have clearence modify the dumptube so it faces straight down.

Hoping to get the engine back in tommorrow.

Nice Blox manifold. My GT28RS is just clear of fouling the block with the compressor on the drivers side so I dduno what yours will be like with you're T04E housing. Maybe you could space the manifold from the head with a plate, whats the wastegate clearance like between the cam cover?

That screamer isnt really ideal asside from the packaging. It will end up with exhaust gas being ingested by the compressor aswell as making your engine bay a state, much better to route it rearwards under the car and maybe include a exhaust driven crankcase breather, so on high boost you have that sucking air from the port on the rear of the block (slash cut fitment in the screamer) to stablise the crankcase pressure.

There is no clearence between the wastegate and the cam cover, it's just touching. I may make a small spacer plate up, it would ony need to be about 2mm thick. I've had to trim away some of the block to clear the housing when fitted the other way.

Yeah the screamer will be modified somewhat. I've been reading up about the slashcut breather thing on H-T, I was just going to run two breather tubes from those plugs on the back of the block into a breather catch-can, but seeing as I'm going to be modding the screamer tube anyway it would make sense to go with the slash-cut thing.

The plan is to have it ready for Japfest, it's going to be tight, but I should do it.

I have one track session booked, 11:30 IIRC.

So how much BHP are you expecting this to deliver, and do you plan to do anything with the front end and or transmission to aid the traction in anyway? (Appologies if you already said).

Somewhere between 300-350bhp. The integra puts the power down pretty well anyway, thanks to a good LSD and well designed suspension (equal length driveshafts etc.). There are nutters in the states putting 750+ whp through the front wheels of Hondas....
