What would be your "Ideal" game?

I'd like PGR4 with every car and every track ever. I'd also like to be able to mod the cars but not in a GT/Forza- buy the car, fully kit it out before ever driving it, use it for 2 races then never again style. Every car you have in game should be a real progression from stock to fully modded. Plus the scope of the mods should be so great that you can be playing online and think, "isn't that ______'s 350Z that just flew past?" Finally I'd like the races to be very much circuit based rather than free roaming but the online aspect between races to be a HUUUGE open world where you physically drive to garages, tuning shops, petrol stations, car washes etc.

So if any developer would like to knock that up for me that would be top, cheers ;)

I'd like a vast role playing game with elements of space simulation +shooter +a bit of strategy (direct troops and whatnot). Single player by the way.
So essentially a bit like x3 reunion/mass effect/crysis/kotor/homeworld/total war.
You have the ability to pilot different ships in space, and can organise fleets. In some situations you can zoom out of your point of view, and the game behaves as a space rts. Full size planetoids/ stars... which you are able to fully interact with. So you can land anywhere on a landable body, at which point you are able to get out and go on foot. Then it is free roaming, similar to oblivion (but with a better role playing aspect). The game is also a good shooter (you have the ability to switch between 1st and 3rd person).
In some circumstances, you can zoom out of your point of view and lead armies, similar to battles in the total war series.
Understandably, this would all be a technical miracle. And yes, you'd need some means in order to traverse the vastness of space quickly (giant stargates?). Maybe limit it to a small region of our galaxy).

For multiplayer, maybe the rts bits would have to be removed (I can see how it could work, but would be very complex).

Anything that can come close to this ideal may interest me greatly.

+1, beat me to it.

To be honest, technicaly i think this is possible now, if not then in a couple of years. But basically a single player version of Eve online with the ability to land on and expoler planets completely free-roming. All done completely seamlessly. And as you fleet grows start to concur sectors RTS style until you rule the galaxy.

the above idea is one of my ideal games :)

also I'd love a Star Wars X-Wing vs tie fighter/X-Wing Alliance style game with 16-player multiplayer on Xbox Live :D

Ideally I'd have the ability to play through Half-Life or Max Payne again without ever having played them before and having them still be the leaders in the graphics market.

Those are the two finest examples of games ever made for me, the former is why I spent £13k going through University :p.

An RTS which is realistic ie 1 bullet will kill one unit, also the ability to jump into and out of the action at any point and take control 1st person style.

Basically Merging CoD+ Company Of heroes = Heaven :p

My perfect game would be any shooter like say COD/Graw/R6V that had a Cod4 Halo3 type match making system that you could easily pit 12 friends in ranked XP games.

Also to have the ability of Halo3 to record and play back the action and take good stills.

No P2P rubbish where the host has an advantage.

In principal that would be amazing, but unless you were playing with good players I get the feeling everyone would chase the ball :D

Yeh thats always going to be the problem, i guess like anything else, if you were in a clan of players, it will be more organised (i know fifa plan on having this fully implemented in a year or two and host an actual world cup with different players representing their country).

GTA IV but it would have Liberty City, Vice City, San Andreas and maybe a few more global cities like Tokyo and London. All modelled in GTA IV engine and re-imagined like they did with Liberty City, but you can drive/fly/sail between cities etc.
