I think Vista haters are full of poo

Been using Vista on my Laptop since March last year, and 64bit on my desktop since July, only problem I have had was getting Itunes to work, quick search managed to sort that out.

Don't mind XP but would choose Vista if had the choice.

It is "cool" to hate Microsoft. The irony is that Apple has just as bad or even worse business practices than Microsoft.

I had some issues with Vista x86 when I tried it about a year ago but things may have changed since then, I am now running Vista x64 SP1 and haven't had a problem with it, much better than XP and a lot speedier. I'm not certain but if feels like Vista is actually slower when aero has been disabled, I leave it on as I have so much RAM I don't notice it.

I used to be a Vista hater, until last summer when for me the driver support improved markedly. Switching from an nForce4 based mobo to a P35 probably helped a bit, but since then it's run great for me and a definite improvement over XP.

Running 64bit, heavily tweaked vLite install, mainly doing gaming and web stuff.

For me there is no reason to upgrade at all. I rarely use my PC as is to get it.

Only thing it offers is DX10 and thats not used much at all!

Thats why I think its pointless atm.

For myself the main annoyances with Vista was with UAC and also the slow thumbnail refreshing if I had large images or video folders. I have 64-bit Home Premium but for the moment I've gone back to XP.

I've had Vista for months now and all these bull crappy problems people keep going on about have not arisen not even one. People keep saying you probably don't do anything with it. I mainly Brows the net watch TV and BlueRay movies and play the latest games. I've suffered 0 issues no slow down issues not incompatibility issues, no blue screens no software refusing to run I mean no problems at all. So when I see or read people running it down I have no idea what they are talking about.

wow good for you! :p

i have many issues, but very few of them are down to vista:)

I think I got so fed up of all the ignorance I read about Vista I just had to make this thread. I remember when everyone was saying they'll keep using Windows 98 SE. Myself used 98 SE right up until XP came out.

The only OS I haven't liked was XP 64 because I couldn't get wireless drivers anywhere.

I installed the 64-bit version of vista a few weeks ago.

Few things i dont like/having problems with.

I keep getting print errors (most of the time i cant print a full page.) this is using the drivers that auto installed. I cant find any 'official' Epson drivers.

Other than that its just minor annoyances, such as some progs wont work due to unsigned drivers.

Other than that all seems fine (fingers crossed)

Windows Vista is the best general purpose desktop/workstation ever. Period.

Agreed.

I love my OS install. I have a dual boot between Vista and XP32. I hardly ever use XP32 apart from a few programs I am to lazy to install on to Vista.

Everything feels perfect, snappy - and the only crashes I have ever really had are from overclocking (had problems with my BIOS and the Q6600) anyways, other than that everything is running perfectly. If MS can better Vista though - I will be extremely happy :D

*EDIT*

Forgot to mention

Q6600
4GB ram
8800 GTS
Vista 64

Vista is not great but i prefer it to Windows XP. Tried both 32 bit and 64 bit and while there were some errors and some companies being late to get their drivers out it feels a lot smoother and doesn't BSOD like XP for unknown reasons.
My mates are saying XP boots faster since it has less bloated but since i don't shut down the PC often waiting 5-10s more for the PC to boot is no biggie.

Strange....a few people in here saying they have had BSOD on XP.

I can honestly say the only time i have had a BSOD on XP was when i knocked my DDR booster (without knowing) and turned the voltage down on my BH-5 causing hundreds of errors in memtest.

I have absolutely zero problems with Vista; it's the best OS Microsoft have ever made by quite a way, XP feels ancient by comparison. Even simple touches like being able to type programs in the start menu make such a huge difference...

Considering Vista won't even recognise my built in wireless or there's no drivers for it... I'm going back to XP! I guess I'm spoilt and like windows to recognise everything and if it crashes or bsod on me.. that's fine, it's expected.
