I didn't have to touch ActiveX to get mine running again, I just re-ran the Facebook install.

I got rid of it my simply deleting the %PROGRAMFILES%\Facebook\chatter directory. Once I restarted it it was just back how I like it!

Zefan I've been meaning to use Facebook for a long time but only have 256Mb RAM. Would this be enough for the whole application?

Zefan I've uninstalled it, but 30 mins later and it came back. Has that happened with you? I might try another reinstall, what do you reckon?

Yeah, but you can tweak the memory settings for better performance when using the 3D parts. Tools -> Settings -> Performance tab. Check it out.

Anyway, Facebook just gets on my nerves when it tries to add more "socialing" to its already great social networking. More by means of apps, zombies, chat, vibrating hamsters is NOT adding more fun!

Yea you can either do the activex or the whole thing. Doesn't make a difference...fixes the problem nicely either way

You can get rid of the apps using the Un**** Facebook greasemonkey script....it's brilliant.

My installer won't start, says something about "Facebook Uninstall.dat missing" :confused:

I've turned the chat thing to "offline" and have not been annoyed since, jsut that 2 tiny icon on the bottom right but I can ignore it

There's various greasemonkey scripts out there to remove it, so if you use Fx or Opera then that's your answer.
