Gaming surfaces - Are they good?

Get an icemat, they are a pain to keep clean (and dont work very well when not clean), but if you can put up with all the polishing they are spot on. Then again maybe Im just addicted to cleaning my ice mat :P

I used to have an icemat but the glass became worn out in the end.

Gaming surfaces can be used more than just for gaming. I have a razer pro mouse mat and work and a razer destructor at home. Much better than the mousemats that the system builders give you!

I have a glass Icemat but I prefer the cushioned feel of a normal pad and am very happy with my Steelpad.

I couldn't get used to the Icemat.

went from an everglide to a desk, no difference what so ever, prefer just on the desk TBH
Your desk must be hella smooth and clean

I went from Steelpad to Everglide. I much prefer the Everglide.

And yes I do feel a bit silly spending that much on a mouse mat..... but meh

I too own the everglide titan, just don't use the Logitech LX7 Wireless Mouse on it. While I have got used to it, I get the occasional judder with regards the mouse cursor. This does not happen on an "el chepo" mat.

Can anyone confirm that the Razer Copperhead works well on the Everglide Titan (I am sure it would), as this will soon be my new mouse to hopefully solve the issue.

As for the mat itself, really nice to use compared to desk or glass.

Help re: the Razer Copperhead would be appreciated, +1 for the Everglide Titan.

Thanks

Used a few, Icemats, Everglides etc. The best I've used is the SS series, the cloth ones are brilliant.

Luckily I got a couple of freebie cloth mats from Creative at an i-series and they're perfect for me :)

Imo gaming surfaces are gay, nothing but trouble, taking way too much space ( more than you need for your mouse if you're a high sens. player like me) and annoying you when it falls or you cant push it away due to ( again) taking too much space.

Space and moneywaster imo unless you don't have a smooth surface for your mouse ( some desks...) or your hand hurts from taking the wrong arm/hand position when using the mouse ( then one with gel would be useful).

Akaik that's all there is to them imo, useless, geeky and no difference compared to smooth desk. Dumped mice mats ages ago and will never go back as I know how highly they annoyed me back in the old days.

EIT: No offence to mouse mat fans, I just dislike em A lot.

I had an Icemat for ages thought it was excellent, but kept getting a sore on my wrist about 2cm across where it was rubbing, bought a mx518 mouse off someone and they chucked in some sort of Steelpad (says S&S on it) tis just as good but don't have to replace the teflon (this one uses hard rubber) feet all the time.

Mines bumpy and got a 1cm wide gap in it.

It's not gonna make a poor player a headshotting demon lol but it definately helps! Between my icemat and deathadder my accuracy went up noticeably
