As some people here might know, I do a lot of travelling in my job, and am away practically all the time.
This past week, I have been working in Brussels, and got the Brussels Airlines flight from Brussels- Bristol.
We took of on time and as normal, reached cruising, got a snack, etc, then I settled down to read and listen to my walkman for 30 mins before landing.
About five minutes later, we started descending, and I noticed the seatbelt sign was on, I could also feel my ears popping. It seemed a bit early to land, so I switched my walkman off to try and gather what was going on.
Next thing I know, all the oxygen masks drop from the ceiling, and the plane starts decending faster- we are told to put them on immediately and stay sitting down- so I comply, as I can feel the air getting very thin (i.e. less oxygen). Just for a few minutes- not knowing what the hell is happenning, and wondering why the cabin is suddenly starting to depressurise is quite a scary thing, I can tell you, and I started thinking all kinds of things!
Anyway, eventually we reached a low altitude (where the air outside the cabin is breathable), and we cruised the remainder of our journey there, before landing safely....
twas a scary few minutes anyway and made an otherwise very boring hour slightly interesting!
Off to Belfast on Monday with EasyJet- lets hope there are no problems there!
Quite a lame story in the end, but hey I'm bored
Anyone else been in any aircraft- incidents?
